On Monday, July 16, Broadway at Birdland was proud to present another "Frank & Friends," a monthly concert hosted by multi-Grammy and Tony nominated composer Frank Wildhorn. Joining Frank onstage was the gifted Grammy-nominated jazz singer Jane Monheit, Las Vegas and Cafe Carlyle headliner Clint Holmes, and a band that included David Mann on woodwinds, Chris Lightcap on bass and Clint de Ganon on drums. The historic room was packed with showbiz glitterati, including Chita Rivera (upcoming Drood), Ben Vereen, Constantine Maroulis (upcoming Jekyll & Hyde), Sara Gettelfinger (Addams Family tour), Patrick Page (Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark), and Paige Davis (host of the upcoming talk show "Home & Family").

Right from the Broadway production of Godspell, Hannah Elless joins the cast of Michael Ogborn's award winning musical Baby Case, playing the role of Adela St. John. Baby Case is directed by Jeremy Dobrish and produced by Charlie Fink, Michael Ogborn, Robert Soslow, Juliana Schauerman, Dorothy Flynn, Caroline Castagno, Glenn Gunderson, Kathy Lou Leone, Diane Santillo, and Anne Makara. Baby Case plays from tonight, July 16 - July 22, 2012, at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 W 42 St). Baby Case is presented by The New York Musical Theatre Festival.

On hand to show support for the famed fest, which opened last night and runs through July 29, were Corbin Bleu ("High School Musical"), Sheryl Lee Ralph (Dreamgirls, Thoroughly Modern Millie), Leslie Krtizer (A Catered Affair), Matt Bogart (Jersey Boys), Jeremy Kushnier (Jesus Christ Superstar), Jack Noseworthy (Sweet Smell of Success), Tom Deckman (Spamalot), Anika Larsen (Xanadu), Melissa van Der Schyff (Bonnie and Clyde), and many more. Yesterday, June 3, The 57th Annual Drama Desk Awards were held at The Town Hall, celebrating this year's big winners. The festivities were presided over by star of stage and screen Brooke Shields and Broadway favorite - and previous Drama Desk winner - Brian d'Arcy James. Nominations for the 57th Annual Drama Desk Awards were announced at a news conference on April 27 by Drama Desk winners Donna Murphy and Brian d'Arcy James. Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces the 2012 TRU Voices New Plays Reading Series. The three plays that will be presented are Foreclosure by Vincent Delaney, produced by Mondays Dark Theatre Company and Kenny Howard of The Broadway Consortium; Appendage by Derek Murphy, produced by Tweiss Productions (Sharon Weiss & Eileen B. Weiss); and The Sin Eater by Michael Bettencourt, produced by Block & Tackle Productions, Inc. and Elfin Frederick Vogel. The selected plays will be read on Mondays, June 4, 11, and 18 respectively, at 7pm at The Roy Arias Theatre, 300 W. 43rd Street, 5th Floor, Studio 500, NYC. Yesterday, May 24, New Dramatists honored two-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters with their 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award at its 63rd Annual Spring Luncheon tribute at the New York Marriott Marquis. Among those who offered tributes were Emmy Award-winner Mary Tyler Moore, Peters' Tony Award-winning A Little Night Music co-star Elaine Stritch, and New Dramatists Artistic Director Todd London. Tony and Academy Award-winner Joel Grey and Peters' Tony-nominated Gypsy co-star John Dossett offered musical tributes. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the event and brings you photo coverage below!

Earlier this month, the 2012 Tony Awards Nominations were announced by Tony winning actress Kristin Chenoweth and Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor Jim Parsons. 2012 Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award nominee Melissa Van der Schyff (Bonnie & Clyde), fellow 2012 Drama Desk Award nominee, Claybourne Elder (One Arm, also seen in Bonnie & Clyde) and Darren Ritchie (Broadway's Wonderland: Alice's New Musical Adventure, Dracula, the Musical, Little Shop of Horrors) will star in a special industry reading of Vincent Delaney's new play Foreclosure, presented by Mondays Dark Theatre Company as part of the TRU ("Theater Resources Unlimited") New Play Reading Series, on Monday, June 4 at 7:00 PM at the Roy Arias Off-Broadway Theater in Manhattan.
