Carnegie Hall launches its 2018-2019 season on Wednesday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. with a festive Opening Night Gala concert by the San Francisco Symphony under the baton of Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas, with a program to include Gershwin's Cuban Overture and An American in Paris as well as Liszt's Mephisto Waltz No. 1. The fourth annual GI Film Festival San Diego is getting ready to roll from Tuesday, Sept. 25 through Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018. Organizers have once again curated a film lineup to feature the untold and underrepresented stories of America's military through film. The six-day San Diego military film festival features 34 films, including nine world premieres and five West Coast premieres, as well as several screenings, filmmaker appearances, and panel discussions. GI Film Festival San Diego attendees have opportunities to watch the films, meet filmmakers and film subjects, and have conversations to tackle topics that are usually unspoken.

It's with overwhelming sadness that Neville Staple has announced the death of his grandson Fidel, who was brutally stabbed to death this past weekend. Neville is well known as a founding member of The Specials and Fun Boy Three, not to mention his major role in 2Tone Records. Together with his wife Christine Sugary Staple, the Staples are a permanent fixture of the UK and International ska scene, performing regularly at both concert venues and massive festivals as the Neville Staple Band.
Stages Theatre Company (STC) will launch its Most Magnificent Season of Theatre for Young Audiences with the literary classic, E.B. White's Charlotte's Web, dramatized by Joseph Robinette. The tale, filled with heart, hardship and imagination, centers around the unlikely connection formed between Wilbur, an irresistible pig, and Charlotte, a witty and resourceful spider. The heartwarming children's story about friendship, directed by Jeannine Coulombe, comes alive on our mainstage September 21st and will run through October 21st, 2018.
