The Arts and Education Council (A&E) has named Jenisha McDonald the 2019 Katherine Dunham Fellow. McDonald, a junior studying business administration at University of Missouri-St. Louis, currently works at the Fabulous Fox Theatre. The Katherine Dunham Fellowship, created and funded by Sara and Jack Burke and managed by A&E, promotes diversity in arts leadership by giving African-American students and opportunity to explore, gain experience and be mentored in arts administration.

The 87th Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade Featuring Marine Toys for Tots, led by Grand Marshal Nancy O'Dell of Entertainment Tonight, and produced by Associated Television International, will be telecast as a two-hour primetime special on The CW Network on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, 7:00 p.m. CT. 

The City of Cleveland Heights announces RAGTIME will be produced in the Alma Theater June 13-30, 2019 as part of Cain Park?s 81st season; preview is June 13 with opening night on June 14. Cain Park Theater Artistic Director Joanna May Hunkins directs RAGTIME with musical direction by Jordan Cooper.

The touching, moving, brilliantly site-specific version of Gian Carlo Menotti's AMAHL AND THE NIGHT VISITORS, performed this week by New York's vibrant On Site Opera (OSO), had the audience at the Church of the Holy Apostles Church alternately in tears and cheering.

The Los Angeles LGBT Center has announced a special one-night-only performance by the internationally acclaimed singing string quartet Well-Strung today, December 8, at 8pm. The four performers, who specialize in pairing universally recognized classical pieces while singing pop music hits, return to the Renberg Theatre with their hit holiday show, A Well Strung Christmas, directed by Richard Jay-Alexander. The show features the group's own unique pop-classical spin on some of the most beautiful and traditional holiday favorites from "Silent Night" and "Sleighride" all the way to Dolly Parton's "Hard Candy Christmas," and everything in between.

Bicoastal indie-pop duo EXES have teamed up with LA-based synthpop duo JOME for a new EP coming in early 2019. Yesterday, they shared their first collaborative single “One Day” with Live Nation's Ones To Watch, available today on all DSPs. A tragically romantic piece about love, time, and the idea of growing old with someone else, “One Day” is highlighted by dark acoustic and electric guitar riffs and fragile production which give the song a winter landscape, perfect for this time of year. About the track, EXES comment:“'One Day' is almost like our take on a winter love song. It's a song that feels like the soft and romantic first snowfall of the season. Whenever we write with JOME, we always tend to hit that happy-sad sweet spot lyrically and musically. Special guests joining Dave this year will be Mindi Abair, pop/blues saxophonist/singer who makes her first Christmas tour appearance; South African guitarist/singer Jonathan Butler; and Japanese keyboard sensation Keiko Matsui.
