merican Repertory Ballet has announced its much anticipated 2021-2022 season under the new leadership of Artistic Director Ethan Stiefel.

 The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (The Rep) is set to launch its electrifying 2021-22 live theatre season with the world premiere production of Dreaming Zenzile, Based on the life of Miriam Makeba, written and performed by Grammy-nominated international music sensation Somi Kakoma.

New Jersey's George Street Playhouse will return to in-person performances this fall with a newly announced full season line-up.

Acclaimed Black Filipinx playwright and Kilroys List honoree Roger Q. Mason (they/them) is currently premiering their play The Duat with the renowned Center Theatre Group in Los Angeles, presented in association with the Obie Award-winning The Fire This Time Festival and Watts Village Theater Company.

Cocktails Under the Stars will feature cocktails, wine & beer, hors d'oeuvres, a 50/50 raffle, and special performances from the NJCU Junior Board.

The Wilma Theater's Co-Artistic Director Blanka Zizka has announced that on July 31, 2021, she will step back from the theater she co-founded. During her 40 years of work at the Wilma, she has become one of the most renowned theater artists in Philadelphia and in the country.

The national tour of What the Constitution Means to Me, Heidi Schreck’s Tony Award-nominated Pulitzer Prize finalist play, directed by Oliver Butler, will relaunch this fall at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, MN on September 30, 2021, starring Cassie Beck in the leading role.

Based upon Roger Q. Mason’s Kilroys Listed play Lavender Men, this short film is a searing portrait of body dysmorphia, food addiction, and queer loneliness in the age of digital intimacy. 

Mia Katigbak, co-founder and actor-manager of NAATCO, today announced that NAATCO will extend on demand performances of the US Premiere of a new play by Caryl Churchill, What If If Only, realized by Les Waters and Jared Mezzocchi. The performances will be available through Sunday June 20th only.

After what will be a 23-month intermission, The Muny's 103rd season will open with the Muny premiere of Smokey Joe's Cafe, followed by The Sound of Music, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, On Your Feet! and Chicago.

New York Theatre Workshop has announced the complete 2021/22 Season as well as initial work for the 2022/23 Season. The 2021/22 season begins this summer with Semblance by Obie Award winner, NYTW Usual Suspect & former 2050 Fellow Whitney White.

The Dramatists Guild of America has announced they will present the 2021 Horton Foote Playwriting Award to five amazing playwrights – Carla Ching, Kia Corthron, Aleshea Harris, Donja R. Love, and Mfoniso Udofia - at the Dramatists Guild’s awards presentations later this summer. 

Mia Katigbak, co-founder and actor-manager of NAATCO, today announced that NAATCO will present remote live performances of the US Premiere of a new play by Caryl Churchill, What If If Only, realized by Les Waters and Jared Mezzocchi. The performances will stream Monday June 7th through Saturday June 12th nightly at 7:00 pm EST.

Today, Red Bull Theater announced a very special benefit reading of  Ben Jonson’s classic comedy, Volpone, or The Fox directed by Jesse Berger, Red Bull’s Founder and Artistic Director. First produced by Red Bull Theater in 2012, this new version will feature emendations & elaborations by director Berger and playwright Jeffrey Hatcher.

BARD AT THE GATE will return for an additional two seasons starting this fall when Paula Vogel's virtual start-up partners with McCarter Theatre Center. Plays by Zakiyyah Alexander (HOW TO RAISE A FREEMAN), Jose Rivera (SONNETS FOR AN OLD CENTURY) and Christina Anderson (GOOD GOODS) will be featured during the 2021-22 season.

For 24 years, New Jersey Theatre Alliance (“the Alliance”) has offered a spring festival of performances, workshops, and readings throughout the state. This year's festival has been held primarily online, due to the ongoing pandemic.

Howard University has announced the appointment of Phylicia Rashad as dean of the recently reestablished College of Fine Arts, effective July 1, 2021. In this role, she will report to Provost Anthony K. Wutoh. An alumna of Howard University, Rashad graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s in fine arts.

Studio Theatre Artist in Residence Psalmayene 24 directs a reimagined Flow by hip-hop theatre forebear Will Power, drawing inspiration from 90s hip-hop aesthetic and starring Justin Weaks, available to stream on studiotheatre.org from May 21 – June 13, 2021.

The library is joining with McCarter Theatre Center to present “Mental Health 2021: Telling Our Stories, Coping with COVID, and How to Reach Out,” a virtual panel discussion, Thursday, May 6, at 7 p.m. as part of Mental Health Awareness Month.
