Hartford Stage will celebrate the artistic partnership among director Michael Wilson, set designer Jeff Cowie, and sound designer John Gromada in Working with Michael, a multi-media exhibit in 'room,' Hartford Stage's new function space. At the same time, the theatre will unveil Part II of Capturing the Moment, a season-long retrospective of the work of company photographer T. Charles Ericson, commemorating his 25 years with Hartford Stage. The Ericson installation will be in the theatre's upper lobby. The exhibits coincide with the run of Divine Rivalry, a world premiere play by noted political journalist Michael Kramer, which is the last MainStage production Wilson will be directing as Hartford Stage Artistic Director. Cowie designed the sets for the production, and Gromada the sound and original music. Official opening of both exhibits is Wednesday, March 2 at 6:00 p.m., directly before the 7:30 performance of Divine Rivalry.

This March, Berkeley Repertory Theatre proudly presents Ruined, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. A powerful new play about the harrowing lives of women in Africa, Ruined is written by Lynn Nottage and directed by Liesl Tommy.
Audiences and critics on both coasts embraced Eurydice and In the Next Room (or the vibrator play), two shows steeped in longing from playwright Sarah Ruhl and director Les Waters. Now this talented team turns its attention to a fresh translation of a masterpiece: Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters. Ruhl enlivens this classic with the same elegant understanding of intimacy that infused those earlier collaborations, while Waters and a cast of 14 deliver another sumptuous production. This West Coast premiere begins previews on Berkeley Rep's intimate Thrust Stage on April 8, opens April 13, and runs through May 22. Three Sisters is a co-production between Berkeley Rep, where Waters serves as associate artistic director, and Yale Repertory Theatre.

A haunting American classic, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL marks the first Cleveland Play House production of a work by Pulitzer Prize- and Academy Award-winner Horton Foote, and the world-premiere performance of this play by an African-American cast. Receiving the blessing of Hallie Foote, daughter of the playwright, this co-production with Round House Theatre is helmed by Timothy Douglas and stars preeminent African-American actress Lizan Mitchell as Carrie Watts. THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL begins in the Drury Theatre at Cleveland Play House on Friday, February 4 and runs through Sunday, February 27, 2011. Violinist Itzhak Perlman will perform music from Vienna and Hollywood with the New York Philharmonic on Monday, April 11, 2011, at 7:30 p.m., conducted by Music Director Alan Gilbert. The program replaces the previously announced Henry V: A Shakespeare Scenario, narrated by Christopher Plummer. Mr. Plummer has had to reschedule his appearance with the Orchestra due to the extended filming of Barrymore; a new concert date will be announced at a later time. Repertoire for Mr. Perlman's program will be announced shortly.
According to published reports, playwright James McLure passed away on February 17 at the age of 59. McLure lost a battle to cancer. He is survived by his sister Jenny.
