McQUEEN to Receive West End Transfer

McQUEEN, which received its world premiere in May at St. James Theatre, where it broke box office records, will transfer to London's West End, opening at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on Thursday 27 August, following previews from 13 August, for a strictly limited season until 7 November.

The Manchester International Festival returns on the 2nd July bringing the best in theatre, music and the arts into the heart of the Northern Powerhouse.  Ahead of the festival, Artistic Director of the Royal Exchange Theatre Sarah Frankcom spoke to BWW:UK about Manchester's thriving art scene, the Festival and working with Maxine Peake in her revival of Caryl Churchill's The Skriker.

OPERATION CRUCIBLE Set for Finborough Theatre

Juma Sharkah and Laura Elsworthy will play Lily and Josie respectively in The Skriker at Manchester International Festival. The production will run at Royal Exchange Theatre from 4 July. The ensemble cast will include Sarah Amankwah, Harry Attwell, Alex Austin, Hannah Hutch, Martins Imhangbe, Kate Jackson, Stuart Overington, Beatrice Scirocchi, Andrew Sheridan, Jessica Walker, Leah Walker and Owen Whitelaw. As previously announced, Maxine Peake will play the eponymous role.

Birmingham Repertory Theatre Sets New Programme for Autumn, Winter 2015-16

Birmingham Repertory Theatre today announces its new season of work for Autumn and Winter 2015/16. The announcement comes on the back of a hugely successful year for the theatre, with a 43% increase in audiences during 2014/15 - giving the highest attendance at the theatre for over 20 years.

Maxine Peake will return to The Royal Court to appear in Zinnie Harris' How to Hold Your Breath, with full casting to be announced soon. The production, written by Zinnie Harris, will be directed by the Royal Court's Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone, premiering on 4 February at Jerwood Theatre Downstairs.

Bruntwood Prize For Playwriting 2015 Sets Judging Panel

The 2015 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting today announced its judging panel ahead of this year's official launch on 29 January 2015, which will also mark the Prize's 10th anniversary. The competition, a unique partnership between the Royal Exchange Theatre and property company Bruntwood, will accept entries from 30 January 2015.
