The first ever Yorkshire Festival 2014 captured the imaginations of artists and public alike, attracting over 750,000 people to 1,400 performances of the headline events, which involved 7,000 participants and took place in the 100 days running up to Yorkshire's Tour de France Grand Depart.

This morning Executive Producer Henrietta Duckworth announced the full programme of events for the inaugural Yorkshire Festival. For the first time in its 111 year history a cultural festival will precede the Tour de France. On July 6th and 7th Yorkshire plays host to the Grand Depart - the first two stages of the Tour de France - and in the 100 days preceding, Yorkshire will see 47 cultural events, taking place across the county.

Following a sell-out run at Hampstead Downstairs in 2011, Hampstead Theatre has announced the transfer of Di and Viv and Rose to the main stage in January 2013. Di and Viv and Rose will be the first transfer from Downstairs to the Main Stage - a model the theatre hopes to see repeated in the future.
