Michele Wiles, former Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre, and Charles Askegard, former Principal Dancer with New York City Ballet, announce the premiere performance of Ballet Next at The Joyce Theater on November 21, 2011.

ACME (American Contemporary Music Ensemble) will perform a free concert at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette St., NYC) on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 7pm presented by online contemporary classical community Sequenza21.com and the Manhattan New Music Project. The works to be performed were selected through an open call for scores by ACME artistic director Clarice Jensen, composer and Sequenza21 senior editor Christian Carey, and composer Hayes Biggs.

Violinist Hilary Hahn returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall in a recital of music by Bach, Beethoven and Brahms, as well as selections from her own commissioning project, In 27 Pieces: The Hilary Hahn Encores, Tuesday, November 1, at 8 p.m.

In a featured presentation of its 50th Anniversary season, La MaMa E.T.C. will reprise 'Golem' by Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre (CAMT), a dance-theater rendition of the famed Jewish legend that may have been the first-ever puppet 'Golem' when La MaMa presented it in 1997.

In an exclusive engagement, independent contemporary ballet duo Jacoby & Pronk will perform at Jacob's Pillow with four other international dance stars, July 21-25 in the Doris Duke Theatre. Drew Jacoby and Rubinald Pronk performed with leading contemporary ballet companies before eschewing the typical dancer's career path to become freelance artists, touring as an independent duo and appearing as guest artists with companies such as the Dutch National Ballet and Morphoses. The duo will perform an excerpt of Christopher Wheeldon's Rhapsody Fantaisie, three world premieres by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Leo Mujic, and Lauri Stallings, and a pas de deux by Hans van Manen. Jacoby and Pronk are joined in this engagement by fellow international dance stars David Hallberg of American Ballet Theatre; former member of Nederlands Dans Theatre Shirley Esseboom; dancer/choreographer Leo Mujic (Béjart Ballet Lausannet, Ballett Frankfurt, Paris Opera Ballet); and Victor Mateos Arellano of Dresden SemperOper Ballett. Short films directed by noted photographer and filmmaker Alvin Booth, starring Jacoby and Pronk, serve as interludes between works.
