After enrapturing theatre goers during it's 2013 New York stage run, legendary theatre and film director Julie Taymor (The Lion King, Frida, Across The Universe, Titus, The Tempest) brings her sumptuous production of William Shakespeare's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM to the screen in a unique cinematic theatrical experience.

Labyrinth Theater Company, the award-winning, downtown ensemble, is presenting the New York Premiere of The Muscles in Our Toes by Labyrinth Company Member Stephen Belber, and directed by Anne Kauffman. Samuel Goldwyn Films announced today a Fall 2014 release of co-writers and co-directors Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland's The Last of Robin Hood. Academy Award(R) winner Kevin Kline stars as Hollywood icon Errol Flynn in this stylish biopic about the actor's final years and his May-December romance with starlet, Beverly Aadland (Dakota Fanning), and her mother's role, Florence Aadland (Academy Award(R) winner Susan Sarandon) in encouraging the relationship. Flynn is widely regarded as the first action-hero in Hollywood. The film, from Lifetime Films, also features Bryan Batt, Max Casella, Jason Davis, Matt Kane, Patrick St. Esprit, Ric Reitz, and Justina Machado.

According to Deadline, Olivia Wilde has just signed on to join Bobby Cannavale in Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger, and Terence Winter's untitled rock & roll HBO drama pilot. Scorsese, who helmed BOARDWALK EMPIRE's pilot, will direct, with Winter and George Mastras writing.

Julie Taymor, the Oscar and Tony Award-winning director of film, theatre and opera comes to 92Y on Sunday, November 17 to talk about her work in a conversation moderated by actor Harry Lennix, who received a Golden Satellite Award in Taymor's Titus. The event -From Stage to Screen and Back Again - will be illustrated with clips from her productions. Taymor is acclaimed for infusing her work with a uniquely theatrical vision - from the internationally acclaimed stage musical The Lion King, to the Beatles-inspired screen musical, Across the Universe, the timeless magic of Shakespeare on screen in Titus and The Tempest, to Shakespeare on stage, with her highly-anticipated upcoming production of A Midsummer Night's Dream for Theatre for a New Audience.

The Sunday Series at Abingdon will present A LITTLE BIT OF THIS AND THAT, a special one night only workshop benefit performance of three new one acts by New York-based playwright Charles Messina today, September 22. Proceeds will benefit the programs of the not-for-profit Abingdon Theatre.
