Brooke Shields has been announced as the director of the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of CHICAGO, which holds the record as the third longest running show in Broadway history. Rob Fisher has also been announced as the conductor of the production. Shields starred in CHICAGO both on Broadway and in London's West End and this marks her directing debut. Northern Stage, the pioneering New England theater company, announces its new production of Chicago. The company obtained special permission from the show's creators to produce an intimate ensemble-based version of the hit musical, directed by Northern Stage Producing Director Catherine Doherty and award-winning New York director-choreographer Connor Gallagher, who also developed original choreography for the show.

In addition to evening performances on Friday March 23 and Saturday March 24 at 8pm and matinee performances on Saturday and Sunday at 2pm, there will be a preview performance on Thursday night March 22 at 8pm.

America Ferrera and Amra-Faye Wright will star as Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly until Saturday 31 December. From Monday 2 January, the roles of Roxie and Velma will be played by Sarah Soetaert and Rachel McDowall. James Doherty will continue as Amos Hart, Jasna Ivir as Mama Morton and R. Whitehead as Mary Sunshine.
