As a die-hard musical theatre fan plays the record of his favorite musical, the (fictional) 1928 hit THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, the show bursts to life onstage in front of him! He wittily comments on the music, actors, and story of a rambunctious starlet, a panicked producer, a drunken diva, two singing and dancing hit men dressed as chefs, well - I'm sure you get the idea! This completely original musical, not based on a movie, a book, or a cartoon, is full of hummable tunes and overall hilarity. Winner of 5 Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Score, the MusicalFare production will rediscover the show's intimate roots (THE DROWSY CHAPERONE had its world premiere at the Toronto Fringe Festival) in the tradition of previous MusicalFare productions such as AVENUE Q and SPELLING BEE.
