We live in our bodies. They enable us, constrain us, and sometimes define us. As women and trans people our bodies are the objects of much attention, discussion, politics and more.

Make spirits bright this winter by joining Aurora Theatre for its annual holly jolly tradition Christmas Canteen 2016! Striking up festive tunes now through December 23, Gwinnett's longest running theatrical extravaganza will usher in the sounds of the season with Canteen veterans Brandon O'Dell, Jen MacQueen, Diany Rodriguez and Lyndsay Ricketson Brown, alongside powerhouse newcomers Christian Magby and Cecil Washington Jr. Complete with laugh-out-loud comedy and sparkling musical numbers, this winter wonderland revue promises a delightful experience for all. Scroll down for a first look at the show!

The Suzi Bass Awards revealed nominations for the 2015-2016 Atlanta professional theatre season on Monday evening, September 12, to patrons and industry artists. The Suzi Nomination Party was generously hosted by the Alliance Theatre, at 6:30pm in The Circle Room, on the third floor, 1280 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, Georgia, 30309.

Returning for its 18th anniversary production, Atlanta's red-hot holiday sensation, The Santaland Diaries by award-winning satirist David Sedaris, will run November 18 -December 31 at Horizon Theatre Company. Wanderlust Atlanta says "your sides are going to hurt and your cheeks will be so sore after laughing and smiling for a solid 90 minutes!" This non-traditional, adult-only, Christmas comedy provides the perfect laughter-induced remedy to the holiday blues.

'Tis the season for festive cheer and everyone's favorite tuneful holiday obsession, as Aurora Theatre's Christmas Canteen 2015 ushers in the sounds of the season for its 20th anniversary, November 19-December 20. Home to Gwinnett County's longest running theatrical, holiday tradition, this winter wonderland spectacular will commemorate two decades of Aurora Theatre and Christmas Canteen. Including laugh-out-loud comedy and jubilant musical numbers, this high-energy spirited revue promises to be a delightful outing for all!

La MaMa will honor film producer Joy Tomchin for her activism on behalf of the LGBTQ communities; Donn Russell for his commitment to and support of nontraditional theatre; and Roberta Uno for her leadership in philanthropy and cultural diversity at the annual La MaMa Gala tonight, November 2nd at La MaMa's Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 E. 4 St.), it has been announced by Mia Yoo, the theater company's Artistic Director.

Deborah Zoe Laufer's new play Informed Consent, an Off-Broadway comedy drama at Horizon Theatre, is an electrifying journey of science, religion and ethics that follows one woman's journey to uncover ancient truths and save her 4-year-old daughter. Inspired by a true story, this fast-paced tale of science, secrets and lies unfolds on the Horizon Theatre stage October 9- November 8. With science and belief pitted against one another, the question, 'Is my DNA really my history and my destiny?' is asked.

THE BIRDS & THE BEES: UNABRIDGED explores the unique -- yet interwoven -- life circumstances of eight women & trans people forced to confront their own sexuality, realizing that sexuality itself is not simple or clear-cut. Through dialogue, movement, song, humor, and multimedia, the performance examines such themes as partner communication, sexual identity, the de-sexualization of aging women, today's "hook-up" culture, and sexual health.
