The 2014 Jazz at the Bowl Series begins July 9, 2014 as The Count Basie Orchestra and special guests celebrate the music of Ella Fitzgerald. The series also features, among others, Boz Scaggs, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Herbie Hancock, a Christian McBride-directed James Brown Celebration, John Legend recreating Marvin Gaye's What's Going On, Peter Frampton, Marcus Miller, and more. The season marks Herbie Hancock's fifth year as Creative Chair for Jazz.

Beginning Today, July 1st, a select number of $30 tickets will be sold through the MOTOWN THE MUSICAL ticket lottery for each performance. Beginning two-and-a-half hours before the performance, theatregoers are invited to enter the lottery at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street), and winners will be drawn two hours before each performance. Limit one entry per person and two tickets per winner. Cash only.

Black is the Color Of My Voice is a one-woman show inspired by the story of singing legend Nina Simone, written and performed by Shanghai based singer and actress, Apphia Campbell. This theatre piece with music will be performed at Gilded Balloon (Billiard Room) from Friday 1 - Monday 25 August, 14.20 (15.20 ends).

Broadway's smash hit Motown the Musical just marked the production's 500th performance on Broadway last night, June 26 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. MOTOWN THE MUSICAL, featuring music and lyrics from the legendary Motown catalogue and a book by Berry Gordy, opened on Broadway on April 14th, 2013 at The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street). Human Nature Plays Apollo Theater's 80th Anniversary Spring Gala

Las Vegas headliners and Australian singing sensations Human Nature were part of musical history last night, Tuesday, June 10, as they took the stage during The Apollo Theater's Spring Gala, which celebrated 80 years of iconic performers and legendary performances. Departing from its tradition of inducting legends into the Apollo Hall of Fame, this year's Gala celebrated the eight decades of artistic brilliance that have been presented on the Apollo stage since 1934. Human Nature represented the Motown era during the star studded event, performing a 15-minute hit bound set featuring tracks such as “My Girl”, “Ooh Baby Baby” and “Ain't No Mountain High Enough.” The event was hosted by Emmy Award-winning and Grammy nominated entertainer Wayne Brady.

The Fulfillment Fund is proud to announce the 7th Annual 'The Songs of Our Lives' concert, which will pay special tribute to the songs of internationally acclaimed Songwriter's Hall of Fame and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, songwriter Lamont Dozier and the legendary Songwriter's Hall of Famer, two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, singer-songwriter, David Crosby. 'The Songs of Our Lives' is a benefit concert showcasing award-winning songwriters performing the hit songs they have written over the course of their career. The Songs of Our Lives provides a unique opportunity to experience these pieces as the songwriter envisioned them. The intimate setting of this event gives guests the chance to be up close and personal with these artists. Award-winning songwriter Charles Fox, a longtime Fulfillment Fund board member along with his wife Joan Fox, created 'The Songs of Our Lives' as an opportunity to combine entertainment and philanthropy in a meaningful way to support the Fulfillment Fund's important work in the community. Songwriters who have participated in The Songs of Our Lives include Academy and Grammy Award winning songwriters such as Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager, Marilyn and Alan Bergman, Hal David, Mac Davis, Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds, David Foster, Steve Karmen, Jerry Leiber, Kenny Loggins, Barry Mann, Alan Rich, Mike Stoller, Cynthia Weil, Paul Williams, Bill Withers, and many others. Freda Payne as well as Scherrie Payne and Lynda Laurence (Formerly of The Supremes) have been added to the program as well.
