The new musical comedy NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, with music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a book by two-time Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro, opened last night, April 24 at Broadway's Imperial Theatre. NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT stars two-time Tony Award-winner Matthew Broderick and three-time Tony Award nominee Kelli O'Hara and is directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall. Emmy Award winning actress Jane Lynch will host this year's Backstage at the Geffen fundraiser, which recognizes leadership in the theater community while raising support for the theater's artistic and outreach initiatives, honoring Hollywood legend Carol Burnett and Chairman and CEO of Fox Filmed Entertainment Jim Gianopulos. Ms. Burnett will receive the Distinction in Theater Award and Mr. Gianopulos will be presented with the Distinction in Service Award by entertainment icon and longtime colleague Warren Beatty. The star-studded event will be co-chaired by Chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company Robert A. Iger and his wife, journalist Willow Bay. This irreverent evening of laughter, music and stories, which is sponsored by City National Bank, will be held on Monday June 4, 2012 at the Geffen Playhouse.

On April 13th, SILENCE! The Musical received the 2012 Telly Award for Use of Humor in a Television Commercial. The hit Off-Broadway show's new commercial won the prestigious honor at the 33rd Annual Telly Awards over nearly 11,000 entries from around the world. 'The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video,' said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards. SILENCE! Broadway vet Jason Alexander will guest star as Alan's cardiologist, Dr. Goodman on the 200th episode of the CBS comedy TWO AND A HALF MEN.

Broadway favorites Lea Michele, Megan Hilty and Bernadette Peters will all lend their vocal talents to the upcoming DOROTHY OF OZ animated film. Producer Ken Davenport announced today that on Tuesday, April 24 at Circle in the Square Theatre (1633 Broadway at 50th Street), aspiring young Broadway hopefuls can audition for 'The GODSPELL Cast of 2032.'

Frank Wildhorn's WONDERLAND, which opened on Broadway last Spring, will make its international premiere at Tokyo's Aoyama Theatre in Fall 2012. Set to star in the production are Kei Aran and Megumi Hamada. Hiromi Suzuki will direct. The production will run November 18-December 4. Click here for tickets.

The Musical is the unauthorized parody of The Silence of the Lambs, with book by Hunter Bell, music & lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan, and direction & choreography by Christopher Gattelli. After opening on July 9, 2011 the show immediately became a sold-out phenomenon and was selected by Time Magazine as one of the year's Top 5 Musicals. Due to overwhelming ticket demand, the producers recently put a new block of seats on sale through September 2nd.

Sunday, June 10th, The Actors Fund will honor TONY® Award winner Jason Alexander at their 16th Annual Tony Awards® Party with the Julie Harris Award for Lifetime Achievement. The gala, which will be held at Skirball Center (2701 North Sepulveda Blvd, LA, 90049), features the only approved live feed of the Tony Awards as they happen in New York. The evening's host and presenter to be announced.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that critically acclaimed Broadway actress Rachel York will star as "Reno Sweeney" in the national tour of the 2011 Tony® Award winning Anything Goes. Presented by Roundabout Theatre Company, the national tour will set sail in Cleveland this fall. Anything Goes is the winner of three Tony® Awards including Best Musical Revival.

BASE Entertainment has just announced that DINER, a new musical based on the critically acclaimed 1982 film with a book by Academy Award winner and original DINER screenwriter Barry Levinson and music & lyrics by 9-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow, will have its pre-Broadway world premiere at San Francisco's SHN Curran Theatre (445 Geary Street). Directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall, DINER will play a strictly limited four week engagement from Tuesday, October 23, 2012, through Sunday, November 18, 2012, with an opening night of Friday, November 2, 2012. Due to these confirmed San Francisco dates DINER will now bow on Broadway in the spring of 2013, instead of the fall of 2012 as previously announced. Design team and casting will be announced at a later date.

The Mirage Hotel & Casino will welcome Emmy Award-winning actor and master of slapstick comedy Martin Short to the Terry Fator Theatre as he makes his Aces of Comedy debut June 29 - 30. Short, who has appeared on the small screen, in feature films and on Broadway, is widely known for his comedic, sidekick roles such as the character "Franck" in Steve Martin's "Father of the Bride" series.
