Comedian, actor, director and producer Martin Lawrence will return to the stage as the host of 2018's hottest comedy event: the "LIT AF Tour" at the Mandalay Bay Events Center Saturday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. Coming off the 20th anniversary of Def Comedy Jam, where he is known as the legendary host, Lawrence has made a triumphant return to the stand-up stage wowing audiences with his signature style of hilarious stories, social commentary and more. The "LIT AF Tour" stars Lawrence as the high-powered host who will present a lineup of comedians including Deon Cole, Rickey Smiley, Bruce Bruce and Benji Brown.

That is the question one theater patron asked of Irene Ryan Award-winning actor-playwright Jeremy Gillett in the Talk-Back session following his one-man show, Black and 25 in America, which explores the issues of race, class, gender and identity through the life stories of four unforgettable characters out of Gillett's childhood growing up on the Southside of Chicago. While the characters - Big Man, Joshua Thomas Northington III, Darron, and Marcy - loom large in Gillett's memory, too few in America 'see them' or imagine the diversity of their experiences as African-Americans in our society. TOOTSIE's story is hitting the stage! Scott Sanders Productions announced today that the world premiere of the new comedy musical, TOOTSIE, will play a pre-Broadway engagement this fall at Broadway In Chicago's Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 West Randolph Street, Chicago, IL) from September 11 October 14. TOOTSIE will come to Broadway in spring 2019.
