Community leaders partner with Barter Theatre actors for an exclusive, one night only performance of mayhem, laughter, and the unexpected. This evening of events, known as Forbidden Barter, will be held tonight, October 21, 2015.

BroadwayWorld has learned that MIGHTY REAL: A FABULOUS SYLVESTER MUSICAL, the musical celebration of the life of the original 1970s 'Queen of Disco' Sylvester, has been nominated for five AUDELCO Awards, including Outstanding Musical Production of the Year.

THE MEETING* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed comedy/variety show, will return to JOE'S PUB at The Public Theater on Sunday, October 25 at 9:30 PM to continue the Fall 2015 Season. The October 2015 show will feature a celebration of the cult film PRACTICAL MAGIC for Halloween, with special guests to be announced. Tracy Stark serves as the show's Music Director.

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed comedy/variety show, will return  to OASIS (298 Eleventh Street, San Francisco CA) on Saturday, December 12 at 7:00 PM after two packed shows earlier this year. The Meeting* has been called "delicious and delightfully droll" by The New York Post and "hilarious and sardonic" by The Village Voice. A story for Slate.com called the evening "so deliciously icy that it left me shivering with fear and delight." The New York run of The Meeting* - currently running monthly at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater - has been sold out since the New York Times "Arts & Leisure" piece ran last September. SPARKLE & CIRCULATE with JUSTIN SAYRE - the official monthly podcast of the International Order of Sodomites - has posted its eleventh episode, which features an interview with Brendan Maclean, the acclaimed Australian singer and songwriter. Philadelphia Theatre Company (PTC) is pleased to announce James Ijames as the recipient of the fourth Terrence McNally New Play Award for the development of his play White. The Terrence McNally New Play Award is a $10,000 cash prize given annually to recognize a new play that celebrates the transformative power of art. The Award will also include a year of development support at PTC, including readings as well as administrative support and networking to help manage the future of the play beyond its time at PTC.

Producers Michael Alden, George DeMarco, Frank Evans and Jack Lechner announced today that they will present a private reading of the new musical DATE OF A LIFETIME on Thursday, September 17th. Four time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks (Guys and Dolls) serves as Creative Consultant. Date of a Lifetime features a book and lyrics by Carl Kissin and music by Rob Baumgartner, Jr.

Performed readings of new plays are the centerpiece of each evening. They are followed by a discussion with the artists, community partners, and special guests.
