It will feature an incomparable cast led by our own Plácido Domingo in his first Los Angeles performance as Giorgio Germont, the dazzling Nino Machaidze in her role debut as Violetta and the dashing Arturo Chacón-Cruz as Alfredo Germont. Due to exceptional ticket demand, LA Opera has added a seventh performance of Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata, the opening production of the 2014/15 season. The added performance will take place at 8pm on Friday, September 19, at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

Opera Colorado announced today that it will present Giacomo Puccini's Madama Butterfly(November 2014), W.A. Mozart's The Magic Flute (May 2015), Giuseppe Verdi's Aida (November 2015), and the world premiere of Lori Laitman's The Scarlet Letter (May 2016) starring Elizabeth Futral as Hester Prynne. Washington National Opera makes its DVD debut with its acclaimed 1998 production of Puccini's La Rondine (The Swallow), released and distributed internationally by Decca. Directedby Marta Domingo with direction for television by Brian Large, the production captures Puccini's bittersweetlove story with grand sets and costumes, and an internationally renowned cast led by Spanish soprano Ainhoa Arteta and American tenor Marcus Haddock.
