Peninsula Players Theatre presents a reading of "A Trick of the Light," a new comedy by Peter Moore, Monday, March 5 at 7 p.m., at Bjorklunden, located at 7590 Boynton Lane, Baileys Harbor. "A Trick of the Light" is the second of the three play reading series, The Play's the Thing. The series is funded in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin, as well as a generous grant from the Door County Medical Center and Friends of Door County Libraries as well as operating funds from Peninsula Players Theatre.

Nahko and Medicine for the People will join Dispatch this summer for the “Dispatch Summer Tour 2018.” Additional support will be provided by Raye Zaragoza, Scatter Their Own, Stephen Marley, and Rebelution on select dates. The tour aims to raise awareness and funds for First Nations communities, and bring to light other Native American issues. Fundraising efforts as well as proceeds from Native designed merchandise will go towards supporting and rebuilding Native American schools.
Donna the Buffalo is joining forces with legendary Producer/ Engineer Rob Fraboni to record their next album February 2018 at Sonic Ranch in El Paso, TX. It is one of the world's largest residential recording studios and is built around an 80-year-old hacienda and pecan orchard right along the border. Fraboni is well known for his work with Bob Dylan, The Band, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Tim Hardin, The Beach Boys, Joe Cocker, and Bonnie Raitt, and as Vice President at Island Records where he oversaw the remastering of the entire Bob Marley catalog. He produced the soundtrack on Martin Scorsese's groundbreaking concert movie, The Last Waltz, which included an all-star cast of famous rock and roll performers. Unlock'd, a new musical by New York Musical Theatre writers Sam Carner and Derek Gregor will run at CityCentre's Queensbury Theatre from February 7-25 (Opening Night, February 16), in a new production in association with New York / Chicago producer Judy Loseff and directed by local Marley Singletary, featuring Houston-area talent.

You can capsulize most pop music acts by reciting how many hits they've had and how many millions of albums they've sold. But these conventional measurements fall short when you're assessing the impact of The Beach Boys. To be sure, this band has birthed a torrent of hit singles and sold albums by the tens of millions. But its greater significance lies in the fact that it changed the musical landscape so profoundly that every pop act since has been in its debt.
