Naked Boys Singing, the international hit musical revue now in its 10th smash year Off-Broadway, returns to Provincetown summer 2009. Opening June 25th at the Post Office Caf? and Cabaret, Naked Boys Singing is a traditional musical revue, in the vein of Vaudeville and high-camp musical theater, which reminds us that clothes alone do not make the man! The show features six handsome 'boys' of various body types with gorgeous voices, perfect comedic timing, and no clothing! With song titles ranging from 'The Bliss of a Briss' to the culinary inspired 'I Beat My Meat', Naked Boys Singing is 60 minutes of non-stop laughter!

?The Prodigal Father,? a world premiere play by Larry Dean Harris directed by Michael Matthews, will open March 27 at Celebration Theatre (CT) as a co-production between CT and Playwrights 6 (P6). Television veteran Max Gail plays the title role in a cast that includes Josette DiCarlo, Joe Rose, Allain Rochel and Truly Magyar.

The nominations for the 2009 GLAAD Media Awards have been announced, BILLY ELLIOT and Road Show were among the New York theatre related show nominees. The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation also announced that Tyra Banks will receive the Excellence in Media Award and Suze Orman will be awarded the Vito Russo Award. GLAAD also give honors to comicbooks, advertising and journalism. Ceremonies will be held on March 28 in New York at the Marriott Maquis, April 18 in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre and on May 9 in San Francisco at the San Francisco Hilton.

To celebrate her recently released debut solo CD, I'VE GOTTA GET BACK TO NEW YORK, accomplished cabaret artist and Broadway vet Teri Ralston (Company, A Little Night Music) will make two special appearances in Manhattan this fall. On Wednesday, 15 October, at 6pm, Teri will sign CD's and sing selected songs at the Lincoln Triangle Barnes & Noble Bookstore. Then, on Monday, 17 November, at 9pm, she will perform in concert at the Metropolitan Room, where I'VE GOTTA GET BACK TO NEW YORK was recorded, live, earlier this year.

The New York Musical Theater Festival may be spawning something extraordinarily special with their production of PLAY IT COOL. The show, with a book by Martin Casella and Larry Dean Harris, features music by Philip Swan and lyrics by Mark Winkler. Is set in a 1920's Hollywood jazz club catering to a gay clientele and is owned my Mary (Sally Mayes), who has put all her life's savings into it.

Play It Cool started with a series of long, gabby lunches with my friend Larry Dean Harris (co-writer of the book). Larry was on the board of the Celebration Theatre in Los Angeles. They had initiated another little show I had written some songs for called 'Naked Boys Singing!'--and were in the market for another one. Both Larry and I loved old film noir and jazz-so we came up with the idea of putting them together. To be honest with you, I was all caught up in visions of slick streets, tough talking guys and good lighting so I basically left Larry alone--

The New York Musical Theatre Festival is the enormously popular three-week celebration that features the works of the newest generation of musical theatre writers. The 14 musicals listed below are joining the ten new musicals previously announced, which were chosen from NYMF's open-submission writer service program, The Next Link Project.
