FREUD'S LAST SESSION, New York's long-running hit play by Mark St. Germain, is set to open in Los Angeles next month starring Judd Hirsch as Sigmund Freud and Tom Cavanagh as C. S. Lewis under the direction of Tyler Marchant, who helmed the original New York production. Rehearsals begin today in New York City. Presented by The Broad Stage and CRC Productions, FREUD'S LAST SESSION will begin performances January 11th for a strictly limited engagement through February 10th at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica.

Porchlight adds a new holiday family event to the Christmas calendar with the Chicago premiere of The Gifts of the Magi, directed by Mark Lococo with lyrics by Mark St. Germain and Randy Courts, now playing through December 23. Drawn from two short stories by the immortal O. Henry, 'The Gift of the Magi' and 'The Cop and the Anthem,' this heart-warming charmer transports the audience to Christmas in New York, 1905 where they not only meet the famed penniless lovers but also a metropolis of people going about their holiday business including "Soapy Smith," a cheerful bum hoping to be arrested so he can spend winter in a warm cell. The Gifts of the Magi is an evening perfect for the whole family celebrating the true meaning of the season.

The Chicago production of FREUD'S LAST SESSION, New York's long-running hit play by Mark St. Germain, will end its run this Sunday, November 11th at the Mercury Theatre. Starring Mike Nussbaum and Coburn Goss, FREUD'S LAST SESSION was extended several times by popular demand after opening on March 26th to unanimous rave reviews. Next up for the international hit play will be this winter's Los Angeles run, starring Judd Hirsch as Sigmund Freud and Tom Cavanagh as C. S. FREUD'S LAST SESSION will celebrate Halloween today, October 31st by offering free tickets to the 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. performances to anyone who comes to the Mercury Theater, 3745 N. Southport, dressed as the father of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud. It's time to brush the dust off your old tweed jacket, find your round spectacles and don a white beard. Bring a cigar! The production has been extended multiple times and is now in final weeks, ending its successful Chicago run on November 11.

George Street Playhouse Artistic Director David Saint announced today that the theatre has postponed their scheduled production of Clever Little Lies, penned by Tony Award-winning playwright Joe DiPietro, which was to star award-winning actress Marlo Thomas. Mark St. Germain's critically-acclaimed play The Best of Enemies, originally produced by Barrington Stage Company, will take its place in the New Brunswick theatre's season, running November 29 - December 23.
