American Repertory Ballet (ARB) Artistic Director Douglas Martin will premiere his new full-length ballet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, on February 26 and 27, 2015 at the State Theatre in New Brunswick, NJ. The ballet will feature the beloved score by Mendelssohn, performed live by Rutgers Symphony Orchestra. ARB will also bring this new ballet to the Zoellner Arts Center in Bethlehem, PA on March 6. In anticipation of these performances, today January 16, ARB will host 'Behind the Music: A Midsummer Night's Dream,' a free lecture featuring guest and music scholar Simon Morrison.
On Wednesday, January 28, banjo legend Béla Fleck will join Brooklyn's own innovative chamber orchestra, The Knights, at Schimmel Center at Pace University to kick off a seven-state East Coast tour. The concert features the title track of the orchestra's brand new album, being released on January 26 on Warner Classics, The Ground Beneath Our Feet, a group composition that was written collaboratively by the members of the ensemble and is named after the Baroque ground bass that inspired it. Additional repertoire includes Rossini (overture and Se il mio nome spaer voi bramate, both from The Barber of Seville) and John Adams (Chamber Symphony).

Gotham Chamber Opera presents the final production of the 2014/2015 season, The Tempest Songbook, comprised of incidental music for The Tempest composed in 1695 and attributed to Henry Purcell and Kaija Saariaho's 2004 Tempest Songbook for soprano, baritone and period instrument ensemble, in its U.S. and World Stage Premieres.A co-production with The Martha Graham Dance Company, The Tempest Songbook will be performed in The Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, with three performances from March 27 - 29, 2015. Jeff Pew is currently performing in RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA on Broadway as a member of the Ensemble and an understudy for Prince Topher. In 2015, he will join the cast of the new musical FIRST WIVES CLUB as it heads to Chicago for its pre-Broadway run. As a pianist, Jeff works consistently as an accompanist for American Ballet Theatre and Mark Morris Dance Group. He also has his own YouTube channel with his best friend Luke Hawkins, aptly called 'The Luke and Jeff Show,' which highlights their piano-playing, tap-dancing adventures. He is from San Jose, CA and holds a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from BYU.

'The mind of John Heginbotham is a magical place,' according to the New Yorker Magazine. As Heginbotham takes up several residencies at The Wooden Floor, a free arts-based youth development organization for 375 low-income youth, dancers will experience this first-hand and create magic of their own. This residency continues the organization's award-winning tradition of partnering its low-income youth with leading contemporary dance choreographers from around the nation to co-create progressive new dance works at its 32nd Annual Concert, May 28-30, 2015, at the Irvine Barclay Theatre.
