JERUSALEM Opens on Broadway Tonight, April 21!

JERUSALEM, the critically acclaimed and multi-award winning play by Jez Butterworth and starring Tony and Olivier Award-winner Mark Rylance (Boeing-Boeing, La Bête), began previews on April 2, at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street). The production, directed by Ian Rickson, opens tonight, April 21 and will play a limited 16-week engagement.

The production, directed by Ian Rickson, begins previews on Saturday, April 2, prior to a Thursday, April 21 opening night at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street). JERUSALEM will play a limited 16-week engagement.

Mr. Willey and Ms. Eakes have been part of the benefit since the very first production in celebration of 'All My Children's' 35th anniversary show. Cameron Mathison had previously been announced as host but is now unable to travel to New York due to a scheduling conflict.

Tony and Olivier Award winning star Mark Rylance (La Bête, Boeing-Boeing) will recreate his wildly acclaimed, multi award-winning performance as Johnny ‘Rooster' Byron on Broadway in the Royal Court Theatre production of Jez Butterworth's universally heralded new play, JERUSALEM. The production, directed by Ian Rickson, will also star Mackenzie Crook (The Seagull, 'The Office') as Ginger and most of the original Royal Court cast, with full casting to be announced at a later date. JERUSALEM will open on Broadway on April 21, 2011 at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street). Previews will begin on April 2, 2011. The production will play a limited 16-week engagement.

Julia Cho Wins Blackburn Prize for Playwriting

The 2010 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, the most prestigious award given annually to women playwrights, has been awarded to American playwright Julia Cho for her play 'The Language Archive.' Ms. Cho received the honor at a private reception in New York City on Wednesday, March 3. The award of $20,000 and a signed and numbered print by artist Willem de Kooning were presented to Ms. Cho by Tony Award-winning director Doug Hughes, one of the distinguished judges for the 2010 Blackburn Prize.

The hilarious new musical comedy, set backstage at a fictitious soap opera, lovingly parodied the ‘soap' world through a combination of witty industry references, a bouncy musical score, and a zany cast of characters played by real-life soap stars.
