North Shore Music Theatre Presents 22nd Annual A CHRISTMAS CAROL, 12/7-12/23

Whether it's flying ghosts, the singing of carols, the scowl of Scrooge, or the awed faces of children in the audience, there's something for everyone in North Shore Music Theatre's award-winning production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL. Since its World Premiere in 1989, A CHRISTMAS CAROL has delighted more than a million people, including over 400,000 school children. A CHRISTMAS CAROL, will run from Friday, December 7 thru Sunday, December 23, 2012.

Riverside Theatre's WHAT A GLORIOUS FEELING Opens 10/30

They're singin' in the rain at Bristol Riverside Theatre with the local premiere of the musical What A Glorious Feeling with a book by Jay Berkow, running October 30-November 18. Directed by BRT Founding Director Susan D. Atkinson, the ensemble cast featuresSummer Broyhill, Vincent D'Elia, Zak Edward, Liz Filios, and Charles Osborne. What A Glorious Feeling captures the charming and poignant story behind the making of Singin' in the Rain, one of the best movie musicals of all time. Bringing to life the tempestuous love triangle between Gene Kelly, Co-Director Stanley Donen and their dance captain, Jeanne Coyne, juxtaposed with the iconic dances, catchy phrases and toe tapping melodies of the American classic, this musical celebrates the genius of this highly charged collaboration while exploring the emotional complexity of their lives behind the camera.

BWW Review: A Bad Day at the Office

Feeling nostalgic for the 1980s? The North Shore Music Theatre reminds us what office life was like back then in '9 to 5: The Musical,' based on the film and the Dolly Parton hit song. The production is acted and staged extremely well, but the songs are forgettable and the book is tough to swallow in our era of cynicism.

Natalie Douglas Returns to Birdland, 10/22

The Broadway at Birdland concert series has announced that award-winning Natalie Douglas will return to her favorite perch at Birdland with an all-new concert, Freedom Songs, celebrating the joyful union of music & civil rights' activism. On Monday, October 22 at 7pm, Natalie will be joined onstage by her longtime musical director, Mark Hartman (Sondheim on Sondheim, Avenue Q) and her band of Broadway All-Stars.

Dee Hoty Replaces Lucie Arnaz in NSMT's 9 TO 5

The award-winning North Shore Theatre (NSMT) is pleased to welcome Broadway star Dee Hoty to the cast of 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL. Due to a severe back injury (annular tear of the L5 disc), the previously announced Lucie Arnaz will be unable to play the role of Violet in 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL scheduled to open Tuesday, September 25, and play through Sunday, October 7. Press night is scheduled for September 26 at 7:30pm.

SILENCE! THE MUSICAL Celebrates 300th Performance Tonight, 8/1

Off-Broadway's SILENCE! The Musical will celebrate its 300th performance tonight, August 1st at the brand new Elektra Theatre in the heart of Times Square, 669 Eighth Avenue (at 42nd St.). Winner of the 2012 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical, SILENCE! The Musical is the unauthorized parody of The Silence of the Lambs, with book by Hunter Bell, music & lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan, and direction & choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli. After opening at Theatre 80 on July 9, 2011, the show became a sold-out phenomenon and was selected by Time Magazine as one of the year's Top 5 Musicals.

Randy Harrison to Join SILENCE!, 7/18

Beginning next Wednesday, July 18th, Randy Harrison will assume the role of Dr. Hannibal Lecter's nemesis, Dr. Chilton, in Off-Broadway's smash hit SILENCE! The Musical. July 18th also marks the first performance of SILENCE! The Musical at the brand new Elektra Theatre in Times Square, located at 673 Eighth Avenue (at 42nd St.)

SILENCE! THE MUSICAL Celebrates Gay Pride with Special Matinee Today, 6/23

SILENCE! The Musical is celebrating Gay Pride weekend with a special added matinee performance today, June 23 at 3 PM at PS122. The cast of the smash hit show is scheduled to appear in Sunday's Pride March, which begins at noon at 36th St. & Fifth Ave. and ends at Christopher & Greenwich Streets. The cast will be bringing along fun surprise goodies to hand out to all their fans in the crowd.

Ben Schwartz, Linus Roache & Visit SILENCE, 5/31

Ben Schwartz ('House of Lies,' 'Parks and Recreation") Linus Roache (Batman Begins, Priest), Johanna Day (Tony nominee for Proof) and Pete Simpson (Blue Man Group) all descended on SILENCE! The Musical on May 31st to catch leading man David Garrison's last performance prior to his vacation. Tony Award winner Shuler Hensley is currently filling in as Dr. Hannibal Lecter through June 24th.

Off-Broadway's Irish Repertory Theatre presented a concert performance of Lionel Bart's OLIVER! for its 2012 Annual Benefit Gala at The Shubert Theatre, helmed by Charlotte Moore. The all-star company was led by Brian Stokes Mitchell, Tony Award-winner for KISS ME, KATE, as Fagin; James Barbour (A TALE OF TWO CITIES) as Bil Sykes; and Tony-nominee Melissa Errico (AMOUR) as Nancy.
