Wilk & Michael's ALYSS Readings Postponed Indefinitely Due to Illness in Company

The readings of Alyss, a new musical retelling of Alice in Wonderland by Mark Wilk and Marilyn Michaels, that were scheduled for May 20 and 21 have been postponed until further notice. The reason given for the postponement is that an illness within the company has prevented them from presenting the readings. No rescheduling has yet occurred.

Versatile jazz pianist Mark Berman, a Broadway veteran known for his lead piano on such hits as The Boy from Oz, Dreamgirls, Hairspray, and the current revival of Hair, and perhaps best known for his iconic montuno piano playing for the theme of HBO's “Sex and the City,' returns by popular demand to NYC's Top of the Rock 67th Floor Weather Room, as part of its popular Starlight Music Series, with The Mark Berman Jazz Trio: Berman on piano and vocals, Frank Canino on bass and Ben Perowsky on drums, Wednesday, February 24, 6 pm to 8 pm. The event is free with a Top of the Rock ticket purchase, and a cash bar is available.

TACT/The Actors Company Theatre (Scott Alan Evans,Cynthia Harris and Simon Jones, Co-Artistic Directors), the critically-acclaimed company 'dedicated to presenting neglected or rarely produced plays of literary merit,' opens its 17th Anniversary season with The Late Christopher Bean, a sly 1930's comedy by Pulitzer Prize-winner Sidney Howard based upon 'Prenez Garde a la Peinture,' by Rene Fauchois. Directed by TACT Company Member Jenn Thompson, performances began at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre (410West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on Sunday, November 1st, 2009 at 3pm. Opening night was celebrated Wednesday, November 11th at 7:30pm. Performances will continue through Saturday, December 5th.
