Se al giorno d'oggi e dura trovare un ingaggio, per un artista, ancora piu difficile e trovare un ingaggio retribuito. È così difficile che molte persone sono disposte a lavorare gratis, ed è proprio per rispondere a questa tendenza che si sono diffusi manifesti come 'coglioneno' o 'Se lavori gratis crei danni enormi'.
È triste che oggi funzioni cosi. È triste che al giorno d'oggi non si possa piu dare per scontato il fatto di ricevere un compenso ma si debba sempre, davanti a un'offerta di lavoro, domandare timidamente 'Ma e un lavoro retribuito?'.

The University of California, Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAM/PFA) will host a free day-long celebration on December 21, 2014 to commemorate its last day of programming in its current building at 2626 Bancroft Way. Let's Go! A Farewell Revel will feature dance battles by the brilliantTURFinc; a concert by the all-women vocal ensemble Kitka; a performance by groundbreaking artist Dohee Lee; sound art by Chris Kallmyer; art-making for kids of all ages with Veronica Graham; and a performance of György Ligeti's 1962 compositionPoème symphonique for one hundred metronomes, led by pianist/composer Sarah Cahill. The event will culminate in a celebratory procession across the UC Berkeley campus to the site of BAM/PFA's future home, which is under construction at 2155 Center St., on the corner of Oxford and Center Streets in downtown Berkeley.

The Dallas Opera has announced a partnership with the Music Academy of the West located in Santa Barbara, California, that will allow patrons from across North Texas to experience the artistry of the winners of the annual Marilyn Horne Song Competition as an added dimension of the popular Robert E. and Jean Ann Titus Art Song Recital Series. The Music Academy of the West is one the nation's premier summer training programs for gifted young classical musicians.

Producers Big Block Entertainment/Scott Prisand & Jamie Bendell (Heathers: The Musical) and Carl Levin (Rock of Ages) announced today that the new pop-rock musical ONE DAY will have its New York premiere this spring, for a limited engagement at the innovative downtown performance space 3LD Art & Technology Center. The musical will begin previews Saturday, February 7, 2015, with an opening night of Thursday, February 19, 2015 and is scheduled to run through Sunday, March 1, 2015.
