The Leonia Chamber Musicians Society, Inc., a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, launches the 2016-2017 season performing three special concerts from November 6, 2016 to April 23, 2017 in Leonia, New Jersey. The 2016-2017 series presents these concerts:

The Off-Broadway smash RUTHLESS! THE MUSICAL will conclude its triumphant 14-month run tomorrow (Saturday) at St. Luke's Theatre, 308 West 46 Street (just west of Eighth Ave.) RUTHLESS! opened July 13, 2015 to unanimous rave reviews led by Entertainment Weekly which called the show, "Uproarious! A mash-up of THE BAD SEED, GYPSY, ALL ABOUT EVE, plus the films of Douglas Sirk and John Waters!" Just some of the celebrities spotted in the audience have included Ron Howard, Regis & Joy Philbin, Bernadette Peters, Lynn Cohen, Chelsie Hightower, Mario Cantone, Dmitry Chaplin, Laura Bell Bundy, Barbara Eden, Jan Maxwell, Legacy, Larry Thomas (The Soup Nazi), Jackie Hoffman, Sierra Boggess, and Dame Gillian Lynne. From the top comedy clubs, cruise lines and colleges to the front lines in Afghanistan comedian Don Barnhart seems to have done it all and now he's bringing his hysterically funny stand up comedy show to Las Vegas nightly at Jokesters Comedy Club inside The D Casino Hotel on Fremont St.

After a sold out run at The Abingdon Theatre in NYC earlier this year, Charles Messina's hysterical nostalgia piece A ROOM OF MY OWN, about growing up in a one room apartment in Greenwich Village in the 70s, opens a limited run at The Seven Angels Theatre in Waterbury, Conn.  Previews begin September 22nd.

On Saturday, November 26, iconic American composer Philip Glass will be awarded The Eleventh Glenn Gould Prize at an exclusive concert in his honour, presented by The Glenn Gould Foundation and the NAC Orchestra.  The Genius of Philip Glass features the NAC Orchestra led by guest conductor Dennis Russell Davies performing a concert of music spanning the legendary composer's career.

Unfortunately the issues put forth in Sheila Callaghan's play "Scab", currently playing as the inaugural Seattle production from Many Hats Theatre, have none of those elements. Instead, the main character rambles on and waxes poetic about how depressed and confused she is for two hours and ultimately learns nothing resulting in one of my biggest pet peeves in theater, someone else's therapy on stage.
