'Dr. Bradley's Functional Narcissism…The Psychoanalytic Odyssey of a Once Glorified Chorus Boy' has been packing in SRO crowds in a series of cabaret evenings in NYC, offering a hilarious and touching combination of psychotherapy, (of which Dr. Bradley Jones is a bona fide, longstanding practitioner in New York City) and song and dance (of which he was a bona fide practitioner in Broadway's 'A Chorus Line" for nearly ten years). He'll return, by popular demand, to Don't Tell Mama on September 16th at 7pm for an encore performance. If you want to attend, reservations are essential.

I do not believe I have ever seen a more 'kid-friendly' theatrical event than the Olney Theatre Company's H.M.S. PINAFORE. Olney has welcomed back 'The Hypocrites' Chicago based troupe (they last appeared during the summer of 2016) who have taken their productions of both PINAFORE and PIRATES OF PENZANCE previously to the Pasadena Playhouse, and the Skirball Center in New York. 'The Hypocrites', founded in 1997 by Artistic Director Sean Graney have taken their repertories all over the country. 'The House Theatre of Chicago' has become the fiscal agent of 'The Hypocrites' and now serves as a co-producer.

The Amoralists (James Kautz, Artistic Director) proudly present TRIGGERED, written by Amoralists 2018/2019 'WRIGHT CLUB author Gabriel Jason Dean, and directed by Kimille Howard. TRIGGERED is PLAY 1 of RICOCHET: An Amoralists Anthology about Surviving an American Epidemic.

The San Diego Symphony's 2018 Bayside Jazz Series continued with 'Godfathers of Latin Jazz,' a concert inspired by trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie's merger of bebop and Afro-Cuban rhythms. Dizzy had wanted something new for a 1947 Carnegie Hall concert, 'One of those tom toms' he said, thinking of the different hand-struck drums played by Latin percussionist Machito and others. To get the effect he wanted he added Cuban conguero Chano Pozo.

Matthew Rose has been appointed as the Artistic Consultant to the Metropolitan Opera's Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, the company's elite program for artists on the cusp of international opera careers. An acclaimed bass, Matthew Rose has sung at leading opera houses around the world, including the Met, the Royal Opera, Covent Garden, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and English National Opera. He is an advisory member of the Mahler Foundation and has coached young singers at the National Opera Studio and the Britten-Pears Young Artist Program. In his new role, he will work closely with the new director of the program, Sophie Joyce, to implement a series of one-on-one and group coaching sessions, as well as master classes.

An original, new musical "Madison Square Park" will be performed at the Medicine Show Theatre. Created by playwright Michael F. Bruck and composer, Michael DeMaio, this musical instilled with humor and poignancy will feature actor/singers Mario Morales, Cassandra Lambros and Michael James Fry as the characters whose stories unfold in this heartwarming 90 minute musical.

He acts, directs and produced 'the little film that could'. LIKE FATHER revolves around a Jewish New Yorker, who is a bedridden patriarch dying of lung cancer (Jason Stuart). His gay African American son (Nic Few) wants him to admit he was a bad father. Instead, Lenny confesses (for the very first time to another human being), that despite his long-lasting marriage and faithfulness to Jake's mother (Denise Dowse), he's always been attracted to men but never acted on it. Co-starring Terry Ray, Mike C. Manning and Daniyar. Written by David A. Lee & Daniel Vaillancourt and executive produced by Scott Crawford. 

From August 27 to September 4, August Strindberg Rep will perform Strindberg's 'Creditors' in a new translation by Robert Greer as part of the Dream Up Festival at Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave.  This masterpiece from Strindberg's naturalist period is rarely excelled in its unity of construction, dramatic tension and acute psychological analysis, but it is far less performed and anthologized than 'The Father' or 'Miss Julie.' During an afternoon in a lounge at a seaside resort, a revenge is played out as a credulous artist has his mind poisoned against his wife by her former husband. Translator Robert Greer directs.

Recently wrapping production in Caserta, Italy, the HBO, RAI FICTION and TIMVISION series MY BRILLIANT FRIEND debuts this fall. The prime time television movie event 'Elena of Avalor: Song of the Sirenas,' based on the Emmy® and Imagen Award-winning series featuring Disney's first princess inspired by diverse Latin cultures and folklore, will debut on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 (7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. EDT/PDT), on Disney Junior and the DisneyNOW app. The all-star guest voice cast for the special includes Gina Rodriguez, Edward James Olmos, Rita Moreno, Prince Royce and Rosario Dawson as sirenas, mysterious underwater creatures. Javier Muñoz (Broadway's 'Hamilton') also guest stars as Elena's cousin, Duke Cristobal.
