MURRAY HILL: ABOUT TO BREAK Announced at Joe's Pub

Joe's Pub at The Public presents the North American premiere of Murray Hill: About To Break, a new comedy and theatrical event, running September 20-22 and 27-29. About To Break is written and performed by Hill and directed and developed with Tony Award-winning lyricist, writer, and director Scott Wittman. Renowned as a comic host around the world, this new show is a departure, putting Hill center stage in the first major dedicated solo show of his long, storied career. Musical direction is by Paul Leschen with original music by Hill with Wittman, Marc Shaiman, Kyle Forrester, Eric Kornfeld, Jesse Elder, and Leschen.

On September 10, the Broadway at Birdland concert series presented singer/songwriter Amanda McBroom, who returned to the historic stage with "My Favorite Things." Musical director Michele Brourman was at the piano, and Jared Egan was on bass.

BWW Review: ELEGY FOR A LADY at Open Spaces

“Elegy For A Lady” is a tiny fragment of a play lasting no more than forty minutes, but also an insight into the mind of American playwright Arthur Miller.  Instead of being performed in a traditional theater, Bob Paisley and Heidi Van inhabit their characters inside a tiny lady's boutique in the Crossroads among, rather than in front of, a tiny audience of about twenty people.

Court Theatre Extends RADIO GOLF Through October 6

Due to overwhelming demand, Court Theatre, under the continuing leadership of Charles Newell, Marilyn F. Vitale Artistic Director, and Executive Director Angel Ysaguirre, announces the extension of August Wilson's Radio Golf, directed by Resident Artist Ron OJ Parson. Radio Golf now runs through October 6, 2018, at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Ave.

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts and The Gateway will co-present the nationally touring production of With Love, Marilyn on Friday, Oct. 12 and Saturday, Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. With Love, Marilyn stars Erin Sullivan as Marilyn Monroe in a special one-woman tribute performance to one of the world's most iconic romantic ingenues. Leading up to the show's Long Island debut, Patchogue Theatre and The Gateway will host various Marilyn Monroe themed events throughout the week at Patchogue Theatre.

Celebrate 40th Anniversary of Bauhaus with Colored Vinyl Reissues

Late 2018 will mark the 40th anniversary of Bauhaus. To celebrate, Beggars Arkive is reissuing records from the band's catalog on limited edition colored vinyl. In The Flat Field and Mask will be released on October 26th. November 23rd will bring The Sky's Gone Out and Press The Eject And Give Me The Tape, which is being pressed in the US for the first time and is exclusive to US Record Store Day Black Vinyl retailers. Also on this date, Leaving Records (a partner of Stones Throw Records) will release the band's first recording ever, The Bela Session including three previously unreleased tracks and a remastered version of 'Bela Lugosi's Dead.' TENOR BY NIGHT Comes to El Portal Theatre

Baritone John Brancy And Pianist Peter Dugan Join Forces For A WORLD WAR I MEMORIAL IN SONG

September 28 through to November 12, 2018, Baritone John Brancy will continue his collaboration with pianist Peter Dugan in an extensive 'A WWI Memorial in Song' tour in partnership with the WWI Centennial Commission. The pair have been redefining the art song recital since making their critically acclaimed debut of 'A Silent Night' at the Kennedy Center in 2014. Hailed by The Washington Post as 'so refreshingly, marvelously different,' the program pays homage to the centennial of World War I through the music of composers who lived through, fought in, and died in the Great War. Naperville's Wentz Hall (Cantigny Park, IL) is the first stop on the tour at a special concert event for the First Division Museum on September 28, 2018.

Matthew Morrison couldn't be more 'Glee'-ful about launching Bay Area Cabaret's 15th Anniversary Season on Sept. 30 at the world-famous Venetian Room at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. 'I love places that have so much history,' says the Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee. Among the celebrated singers who've sung there: Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Marlene Dietrich, Peggy Lee and Tina Turner. And in 1961, Tony Bennett first performed 'I Left My Heart in San Francisco' there, which is especially apt since the Fairmont sits high upon Nob Hill, 'where little cable cars climb halfway to the stars.'
