The audience becomes the confidante to Sophie Carter, formerly known as Kate Carter. When she returns to the United States after living in Paris, she has become a changed woman. Now home, to take care of her father, her loved ones meet Sophie for the first time. What follows is an existential adventure. Sophie has us all wondering, am I who I think I am?

Court Theatre, under the leadership of Charles Newell, Marilyn F. Vitale Artistic Director, and Executive Director Angel Ysaguirre, continues its 2018/19 season with Photograph 51 by Anna Ziegler and directed by Vanessa Stalling. Photograph 51 runs January 17 - February 17, 2019 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Ave. The press opening is Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 7:30pm.

Wolverhampton Grand has announced a new season.

'Life. A Cabaret!' is the first of many new cabaret concepts scheduled to come to Dragonfly Studio 129! The Dragonfly production team is currently putting together a unique and innovative monthly series that will run through 2019. We are very excited to be kicking it off with this performance on Friday, November 16th which will investigate subjects about life, love, and everything in between through song and fun anecdotes!  

Pittsburgh Opera continues our 80th season with Englebert Humperdinck's Hansel & Gretel. 

The Quin, located at 57th Street and Sixth Ave., will mark the fifth anniversary of the hotel's popular Quin Arts program with a memorable season finale in November. The Quin will present an exhibition featuring the works of renowned photographer Slim Aarons. 

Focus Features is in negotiations to acquire rights to 'Street Gang,' Marilyn Agrelo's documentary exploring the 'Sesame Street' phenomenon, according to Variety.

Otherworld Theatre announced the lineup of its annual PARAGON Play Fest, the world's largest Science Fiction and Fantasy genre play festival. PARAGON Play Fest, now in its 4th year, is the largest Science Fiction and Fantasy play festival in the world; featuring 40 Science-Fiction and Fantasy plays performed over 2 days. Collaborating with hundreds of Theatre Artists, locally and internationally to increase exposure for an underserved theatre genre, PARAGON Play Fest has become an annual festival and a unique part of Chicago's diverse cultural landscape. Curated by Otherworld Theatre Company's Literary Manager Elliott Sowards and Otherworld's Artistic Director, Tiffany Keane Schaefer for the fourth year running. American Son, playing a limited engagement at the Booth Theatre on Broadway (222 West 45th Street), opens officially tonight, November 4, 2018.

The Marsh San Francisco presents Irma Herrera's solo show Why Would I Mispronounce My Own Name?, a new work that weaves history and comedic insights into stories about names, shedding light and throwing shade on societal prejudices and assumptions. When giving her name its correct Spanish pronunciation, she often gets the "where are you from?" question. The assumption: that she is a foreigner. Irma's family has been in South Texas for generations, and the award-winning social justice activist, lawyer, and journalist thinks of herself as American as apple pie. Irma's notes from American history and laugh out-loud humor invite audience members to consider what it will take for everyone to get along. Post-show talkbacks, featuring experts in everything from civil liberties to laws related to baby naming, will be offered throughout the run.

Irvine Barclay Theatre was recently informed that Bebe Neuwirth is withdrawing from her concert engagement at Irvine Barclay Theatre on March 16th. Scheduling conflicts will preclude her from being able to perform at the Barclay as planned. In her stead, the Barclay is announcing a performance on the same date, March 16, 2019 at 8pm, of 4 GIRLS 4 featuring four legendary Broadway singers and actresses.

Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song opens tonight, Thursday, November 1 at The Hayes Theater (Broadway's Hayes Theater (240 West 44th Street).

Tomorrow, Nov. 2, the legendary Barbra Streisand will release 'Walls,' her first album primarily consisting of original songs since 2005. But, today, BroadwayWorld has an exclusive FIRST LISTEN to one of the songs on the album, 'The Rain Will Fall.'

Amas Musical Theatre in celebration of its 50th season, will present With Love, Marilyn, a one-woman musical tribute to Marilyn Monroe, one of the most iconic romantic ingenues written by and starring Erin Sullivan. 

Thirty-three nonfiction works from seventeen countries comprise the latest Sundance Institute Documentary Fund and Stories of Change Grantees, announced today. 81% of the supported projects have at least one woman producer or director; 48% originate from outside the US.

Pulitzer Prize-winner David Lindsay-Abaire's sparkling new comedy makes its Bay Area premiere November 16 through December 9 at CCCT. The upcoming OZZFEST New Year's Eve celebration has expanded its headlining bill of some of the greatest names in rock to include a second (outdoor) stage. Concert-goers will now have 10 hours of entertainment before they ring in the New Year.
