Since its creation in 1998, PPF has grown into one of the most important festivals of new scripts in the United States. This year?s Festival will take place during the May 1 through May 3 weekend and will feature five staged readings and two fully-produced World Premieres on South Coast Repertory?s Segerstrom and Julianne Argryos Stages. The Seagull, in a new version by Christopher Hampton and directed by Ian Rickson, opened on Broadway last night, Thursday October 2nd at the Walter Kerr Theatre. The production, starring Kristin Scott Thomas and Peter Sarsgaard plays a limited 14-week engagement through Sunday, December 21st.

'Broadway Stands Up for Freedom', a concert to benefit the Youth Programs of the NYCLU, took place on Monday, July 21 at 7:30pm at the NYU Skirball Center. Hosted by Seth Rudetsky, the event featured opening remarks by playwright Tony Kushner, both of whom also participated in last years event.
Tony Award nominee Gavin Creel (Thoroughly Modern Millie) and 'American Idol' finalist Diana DeGarmo (Hairspray) will star in the new Broadway production of GODSPELL. The first Broadway revival of the landmark rock musical will officially open on Broadway at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street) on Thursday, October 23, 2008. Previews will begin on Monday, September 29, 2008.
Tony Award-winner John Lloyd Young (Jersey Boys) held his first solo concert on February 23 at The Allen Room of Jazz at Lincoln Center as part of the American Songbook Series.
