NJPAC and Jazz Standard present an online evening with multiple GRAMMY Award winning jazz composer and bandleader Maria Schneider on Tuesday, November 10 at 7:30 p.m. EST.  The event is free on Facebook.

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center, the State's  premiere non-profit cultural and arts institution, is bringing an original, exciting virtual series of stimulating jazz discussions and thrilling performances straight to your living room, no matter where in the country you reside. NJPAC is among the nation's largest producer of virtual content in a wide variety of genres.

The Center for the Arts at George Mason University announced plans for its 2020-2021 season today.

Today marks the release of percussionist Jorge Perez-Albela's debut album The Time is Now. Noted for his skilled work as a sideman with such artists as Maria Schneider, Bert Seager, Danilo Perez and Sofia Rei Perez-Albela offers audiences his first foray as a bandleader on this multicultural, contemporary jazz release.

Data Lords is a new double-album by Grammy Award-winning composer and bandleader Maria Schneider.  Inspired by conflicting relationships between the digital and natural worlds, the recording features Schneider's acclaimed orchestra of 18 world-class musicians. 

The first ever VIRTUAL TD JazzYYC International Jazz Days Festival running online only starts International Jazz Day, April 30, and runs until May 27, 2020. This new Festival is in partnership with Jazz Home Delivery.

To protect its audiences, musicians, employees, and community from the spread of COVID-19 and in response to the evolving guidance from Governor Gavin Newsom, Mayor Eric Garcetti, and Los Angeles County health officials, the LA Phil is canceling the remainder of its concerts for the 2019/2020 season at Walt Disney Concert Hall.

The Center for the Arts at George Mason University continues the 2019/20 Great Performances at Mason season this March and April with returning classical music and ballet favorites, a tribute to Broadway showtunes, diverse global music experiences, in addition to signature events from Mason's College of Visual and Performing Arts.

Artists appearing at Birdland Jazz Club include John Pizzarelli (The Swing 7 and Quartet), Steve Ross, Erena Terakubo and Nana Quintet, Leanne Borghesi & Marta Sanders, Constantine Maroulis, Michelle Lordi and David Berger Orchestra.

The New York Youth Symphony (NYYS) continues its 2019-2020 season with a performance by the 17-member NYYS Jazz ensemble on Monday, March 9, 2020 in two sets at 7:30pm and 9:30pm, at Dizzy's Club, Jazz at Lincoln Center, led by Director Andy Clausen. Titled Celebrating Charlie Parker @ 100, and featuring saxophonist Steve Wilson, the performances pay homage to Charlie Parker's centennial, musical legacy, and bebop innovations with selections by Parker, Wilson, Bennie Moten, Jelly Roll Morton, Duke Ellington, and more. NYYS Jazz will also give the world premiere of the NYYS First Music commission In the Shadow of Tall Giants by Devin Reilly.

Curated by Artistic Director Christian McBride and founder George Wein, the Festival takes place August 7-9 at Fort Adams State Park and the International Tennis Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino.

Incredible ensembles, global superstars, legendary instrumentalists and genre-bending up-and-comers make up the first wave of artists announced today for the 66th edition of Newport Jazz. The 48th season of the popular Highlights In Jazz series gets off to a roaring start on Feb. 13, 2020, when producer Jack Kleinsinger presents the Highlights In Jazz 47th Anniversary Gala. Featured performers include bassist Jay Leonhart, pianist Tomoko Ohno, drummer Bobby Sanabria, saxophonist Steve Wilson, percussionist/drummer Memo Acevedo, violinist/mandolinist Aaron Weinstein, and drummer Vito Lesczak. And, in keeping with the beloved HIJ tradition, a surprise special guest will be on hand for the concert, held at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center.
