The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the second time this season to decide the eligibility of Broadway productions for the 2006 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®, presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing.

On January 9th, The Phantom of the Opera made Broadway history by becoming the longest-running production ever. The lavish musical, which will also reach its 18th anniversary on January 26th, reached its 7,486th performance on January 9th, overtaking Cats, the previous record-holder.
