BWW Review: “El Sueño Imposible” llegó al final de su cuarta temporada en el Centro Cultural Chacao

El Caballero de la Triste Figura, junto a numerosos artistas en escena, se despidió de la cuarta temporada del musical El Hombre de La Mancha, que se llevo a cabo desde el 20 hasta el 28 de octubre en el Centro Cultural Chacao, con su última función agotada.  Djamil Jassir, director general, ejecutivo e interprete del papel de Cervantes y Alonso Quijano en el musical, ha apostado y llevado 'El Sueño Imposible', como menciona la canción icono de esta pieza, a diferentes escenarios y numerosas presentaciones.

The Marsh San Francisco presents Irma Herrera's solo show Why Would I Mispronounce My Own Name?, a new work that weaves history and comedic insights into stories about names, shedding light and throwing shade on societal prejudices and assumptions. When giving her name its correct Spanish pronunciation, she often gets the "where are you from?" question. The assumption: that she is a foreigner. Irma's family has been in South Texas for generations, and the award-winning social justice activist, lawyer, and journalist thinks of herself as American as apple pie. Irma's notes from American history and laugh out-loud humor invite audience members to consider what it will take for everyone to get along. Post-show talkbacks, featuring experts in everything from civil liberties to laws related to baby naming, will be offered throughout the run.

Handel And Haydn' Society Presents 'Every Voice: A Celebration Of Our Community'

On November 3 and 4, The Handel and Haydn Society will celebrate the dynamic spirit of the local community with a celebration of song. Every Voice: A Celebration of Our Community will bring together members of the H+H Orchestra and Chorus, as well as students from H+H's Vocal Arts Program, for an uplifting musical festival for justice. K'Arts Ballet of Korea will present the American premiere of Song of the Mermaid, a fantasy ballet choreographed by SunHee Kim, running October 20 and 21 at New York City Center. Song of the Mermaid, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's beloved tale 'The Little Mermaid,' will star Kimin Kim, principal dancer of Mariinsky Ballet, and feature 40 dancers and an original score composed by Hana Ryou.
