Opulent and Highly Entertaining Grosse Pointe Theatre Presents The King and I, opening November 8th

Following last season?s triumph of Rodgers & Hammerstein?s Carousel, Lyric Stage Founding Producer Steven Jones has reunited director Cheryl Denson and music director Jay Dias for the world premiere of the newly restored The King and I, featuring a 35-piece orchestra playing the original Robert Russell Bennett orchestrations. The new national touring production is playing a limited 2-week engagement at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood from April 5-17.

A newly restored print of the 1956 Academy Award®-winning film “The King and I” will be screened by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Monday, March 14.

Kevin Gray will reprise his Broadway role as the King alongside esteemed English actress Elizabeth Renihan as Mrs Anna in a brand new production of the much-loved Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The King & I, which will open at the Liverpool Empire in January 2005 ahead of a year-long national tour.

The lavish, new production of Rodger's & Hammerstein's The King & I, starring Sandy Duncan and directed by Baayork Lee, will grace the stage of Boston's Wang Theatre for one week only, when it opens on Tuesday, October 12 and plays through Sunday, October 17, 2004. Press night is scheduled for Wednesday, October 13 at 7:00 PM.
