WCT is bringing the silver screen back to the PIX. The Wizard Of Oz is one of Hollywood's most iconic movie musicals! It's the 1939 adaptation of L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel, The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz. Judy Garland plays Dorothy, a Kansas girl who feels somewhat out of place growing up on her uncle's farm. She captured hearts and imaginations with her rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow, which stands out as one of the best known musical numbers of the twentieth century.

From the moment you hear the first iconic strains of Arlen and Harburg's OZ score, you know you're not in Kansas anymore. Under the musical direction of Jeff Hamm, the score of Columbus Children's Theatre's current production of THE WIZARD OF OZ rarely sounded so good. The orchestra is balanced and well-equipped to handle the nostalgic nuances necessary when an audience knows every note by heart. Fear not, they never miss a beat. Indeed, every moment of the show is meant to stir a nostalgic memory of the 1939 MGM film.
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's beloved classic film THE WIZARD OF OZ has been re-adapted for the stage by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Jeremy Sams. The splashy show features Harold Arlen's original music and E.Y. Flying audiences over the rainbow, this musical is sentimental, family-friendly schmaltz that entertains with ease.
