Manhattan Theatre Club's New York premiere of NIGHTINGALE, the new play written and performed by Lynn Redgrave and directed by Joseph Hardy, opened last night, Tuesday, November 3 opening at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street). MCC Theater has announced the line-up for their Fall 2009 PlayLab play readings of new plays by members of the company's Playwrights' Coalition Anton Dudley, Matthew Stephen Smith and Kara Manning to be held on October 26, November 2 and November 9. The three-week Monday night series will offer a special opportunity to experience works in development by some of New York's most exciting playwrights. As an added bonus, audience members will be invited to mingle with the artists at post-performance receptions to be held each night.

J.J. Kandel and John McCormack will present SUMMER SHORTS 3, their third annual festival of new American short plays, at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street). Performances begin Friday July 24th, and continue through Thursday August 27th.

Alex, Brian Barry, Kurt Froman, Bahiyah Sayyed Gaines, Lisa Gajda, Anthony Holds, Nadine Isenegger, Mark Morettini, Kathryn Mowat Murphy, Abbey O'Brien, Hayley Podschun, Krista Saab and Eric Sciotto. Maria Mileaf (Going to St. Ives) returns to Primary Stages to direct the three-member cast that features Margaret Colin (Old Acquaintance) as Avis, Laura Odeh (The Rivals) as Wren and David Rasche (Getting and Spending, Speed-the-Plow) as Moss.
