The American Theatre Wing (Theodore S. Chapin, Chairman, Board of Trustees; Howard Sherman, Executive Director) will welcome 35 students from 30 states for this year's SpringboardNYC summer program, being held June 6 - 17 in New York City for its seventh consecutive year.

Streep & Hawn, et al. Set for Good Housekeeping's SHINE ON Benefit at Radio City, 4/12

On Tuesday, April 12, Good Housekeeping, the leading women's magazine, takes center stage with 'Shine On,' an original 90 minute production saluting inspiring women. The event, hosted by Rebecca Romijn at Radio City Music Hall, will feature performances and presentations from some of the world's most influential women, including two-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep, and Academy Award winner Goldie Hawn, who will present an award to one of the evening's honorees, Michelle Rhee, former chancellor of the Washington, D.C. school district and founder/CEO of StudentsFirst.

Blickenstaff, Feldshuh et al. Join 2010 Ebb Award Winner Doug Cohen in Concert, 4/11

The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell Bernard, Trustee) in association with the York Theatre (James Morgan, Artistic Director) is pleased to present an invitation-only showcase presentation entitled An Afternoon with Doug Cohen featuring the words and music of the 2010 Fred Ebb Award Winner. Featured in the presentation will be Heidi Blickenstaff, Bradley Dean, Tovah Feldshuh, Jackie Hoffman, Lauren Kennedy, Jeff McCarthy, Lindsay Roberts, Lance Rubin, Howie Michael Smith and Barbara Walsh.

Carbonell Award Winners Announced - S. Florida Celebrates Outstanding Theater

South Florida revelers gathered on Monday evening to celebrate an artistic standard in the community - the region's theatrical talent. The 35th Annual Carbonell award ceremony played out amongst theatre-goers, actors, producers, directors and cast and crew members from some of South Florida's most renowned stages at the Amaturo Theater at Broward Center for the Performing Arts. 'Tonight we celebrated the artistry of live theatre through camaraderie, laughter and reflection...and honored the creativity of powerful stage and costume design, fabulous music and unsurpassed talent,' says Scott Shiller, Vice Chairman, Carbonell Awards Board of Directors and Executive Vice President of the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. 'It's been a fabulous evening!'

THE ACTIVE THEATER in association with BUD MARTIN will present Any Given Monday by Bruce Graham on Monday, April 4, 2011 at New World Stages, 2:00pm, in Stage 5. Bud Martin will direct the private reading of the play which was first seen in a co-production between ACT II PLAYHOUSE, Ambler, PA and THEATRE EXILE, Philadelphia, PA. Any Given Monday was the recipient of the 2010 Barrymore Award for Best New Play.

Reprise Theatre Company Announces THE APPLE TREE and CABARET

Reprise Theatre Company will present 'The Apple Tree' with book music and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and Jerry Bock, additional book material by Jerome Coopersmith, and based on stories by Mark Twain, Frank R. Stockton, and Jules Feiffer as the third production of its 2011-2012 season, playing April 17 to 29, 2012 at the Freud Playhouse.

LaChiusa, Miranda, et al. Win 2011 Garland Awards

The 2011 Garland Award recipients were announced today, honoring the best of Los Angeles theatre. Under the voting system each Garland winner was named on at least three critics' 'Best of 2010' lists. Each critic listed up to five nominees for each category except performance, up to 10 nominees for performance in musical productions and 10 for straight plays. Here are the critics' lists, minus the winners. The critics who voted are Jeff Favre, Hoyt Hilsman, Travis Holder, Eric Marchese, Dany Margolies, Dink O'Neal, Melinda Schupmann, Madeleine Shaner, Les Spindle, Neal Weaver, and Jennie Webb. Carbonell Award Nominations Announced: MISS SAIGON, BLASTED Among Leaders

The Carbonell Awards recognize Florida's best stage productions and those behind them. This year, the awards' 35th, the Actors' Playhouse production of MISS SAIGON leads the pack with 11 nominations, followed by 7 nominations for the controversial play BLASTED, the Miami Herald reports.

The reading will be directed by Amy Rogers, the head and creator of Pace University's BFA Musical Theater Program. Musical direction will be by Robert Meffe, the program's resident musical director.
