Marc Shaiman and Sammy Nestico to Receive Golden Score Awards, 7/22

On July 22, 2010, The American Society of Music Arrangers & Composers will host the Annual Golden Score Awards, hosted by actor/producer Rob Reiner, at the Universal Hilton Hotel in Universal City. The 2010 Golden Score Award will be presented to the multi-talented BOARD OF DIRECTORS award winning film, television and theatrical composer, lyricist and arranger Marc Shaiman. And, the Award for Lifetime Achievement in Arranging will be presented to the prolific arranger / conductor Sammy Nestico.

Along with previously announced Michael Ball, also starring in the U.K. Tour of Hairspray will be Laurie Scarth, Liam Doyle, and Danny Bayne. The tour begins at the Cardriff Millenium Centre and will begin March 30th, immediately following its West End closing. The tour is scheduled to run through January 2011 with stops in Glasgow, Southampton, Wolverhampton, Leeds, Manchester, Plymouth, Liverpool, Sunderland, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Birmingham, Bradford and Edinburgh. HAIRSPRAY Closes in the West End Mar. 28; U.K. National Tour to Launch Mar. 30

Whatsonstage.com is reporting that the producers of the West End production of Hairspray have posted a show closing notice for March 28, 2010. The closing will proceed Hairspray's National Tour, which launches on March 30, 2010.
