Broadway's current King was a graphic designer before a friend asked him to help record a demo for a musical.

On Tuesday, September 29, immediately upon completion of filming his starring role on the fourth season of the Cinemax series 'Banshee,' Hoon Lee joined Tony winner Kelli O'Hara and the company, assuming the role of The King, which was originated for this production by Tony Award nominee Ken Watanabe. BroadwayWorld has learned that Jose Llana (THE KING AND I), Ann Harada (AVENUE Q), Ali Ewoldt (THE KING AND I), and more will lead "Changing the Stats: Asian Americans on Broadway." The show will be a concert of excerpts from dream roles not traditionally cast with Asian American actors on Monday, November 2 at The Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Symphony Space.

The young dancer often clashed with choreographer Jerome Robbins, who hired her as a dance consultant.

The Tony Award-winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's THE KING AND I, directed by Bartlett Sher, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street), welcomes a new leader tonight, September 29.

He went to URBO (a fantastic restaurant, bar and venue, in the heart of Times Square) and Manager, Benjamin Ickies, who is also a musician, and BOOM ... the night was born.

There's a new Anna Leonowens taking over in THE KING AND I on Broadway this week - at least for a few performances.

Kelli O'Hara might be the reigning queen of Broadway, but another Anna Leonowens might give her a run for her money. Below, watch as 100 year-old Patricia Morison, who played the role opposite Yul Brynner in the original 1954 production, sends a special greeting to O'Hara!

Lincoln Center Theater has announced the casting of Jose Llana and Hoon Lee in the role of the King of Siam in its Tony Award-winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I, directed by Bartlett Sher, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street).

Kelli O'Hara has won the 2015 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for her role as Anna in THE KING AND I.
