Rehearsals for Atlantic Theater Company's revival of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill's musical THE THREEPENNY OPERA, directed and choreographed by visionary Martha Clarke, are now underway. The production features a celebrated cast of 14, including Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham, Sophie Bortolussi, Jon David Casey, Timothy Doyle, Lilli Cooper, Rick Holmes, John Kelly, Lindsey Dietz Marchant, Sally Murphy, Tony Award nominee Mary Beth Peil, Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes, Emmy Award winner Michael Park, Cristina Spina and John Watkins. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin February 18 to 23, 2014 in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater. Appearing together again after their Tony Award winning performances in Evita, Patti LuPone joins Mandy Patinkin onstage for eight performances. Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin are two of Broadway's most venerated performers, having both won a Tony Award for their performances in Andrew Lloyd Webber's groundbreaking Evita in 1980. Since then they have both starred in film, television, the concert stage and back to Broadway. An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin brings them together again - at last. Press opening night is Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 7:30 p.m.

Florida Grand Opera (FGO) will kick-off its 73rd continuous season of grand opera this 2013-2014 season with the Southeast American premiere of Broward-based composer Marvin David Levy's Mourning Becomes Electra. In homage to its composer, the production will open at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts on November 7, 2013, in a new production created by Florida Grand Opera.

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), the not-for-profit foundation of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), announces that Artistic Director Charles Newell of Court Theatre is the recipient of the 2013 Zelda Fichandler Award, which recognizes an outstanding director or choreographer who is transforming the regional arts landscape through singular creativity and artistry in theatre. The award heralds accomplishment to date and promise for the future, artistic vision, and deep commitment to a region outside of New York. It carries an unrestricted grant of $5000 to the individual recipient. The award will be presented to Mr. Newell on Monday, November 4, 2013 at a reception at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.

For every preview performance of Atlantic Theater Company Mainstage productions, Atlantic now offers $20 tickets to the public. They are limited to two rows in the back of the theater, and availability may vary per performance.
