In addition to planning an Off-Broadway series at the Horton Grand Theatre, SDMT is cultivating two, site-specific works; LAST NIGHT IN TOWN - a new musical based on the discography of Ben Folds, and HALL PASS - an immersive musical set and performed in a high school. Both musicals were featured in New York University's Forum on Site-Specific Performance in 2015. LAST NIGHT IN TOWN has another San Diego connection: one of the show's creators, Amy Cordileone, grew up in San Diego and worked locally for many years before moving to New York City.

San Diego Repertory Theatre presents OUTSIDE MULLINGAR by John Patrick Shanley, the fourth production of its 40th Anniversary Season. REP Associate Artistic Director Todd Salovey directs his first production of the season, tackling Pulitzer, Tony and Oscar-winner Shanley's not-so-average romantic comedy set in Ireland. The show's run begins tonight, Jan. 21, 2016 and runs through Valentine's Day on Feb. 14, 2016 with an opening night on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 at 7 p.m. in the Lyceum Space Theatre at San Diego REP. Cygnet Theatre is pleased to announce a Concert Staged-Reading of the Tony Award-winning musical EVITA, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. The two-night-only performance, presented on Monday, August 3rd, and Tuesday, August 4th at 7 pm at Cygnet Theatre in Old Town, will feature some of San Diego's brightest musical theatre stars.

Cygnet Theatre will continue its tradition of presenting plays performed in a rotating repertory by staging two thought-provoking American classics by playwright, actor and icon Sam Shepard. The emotional and physical duo of 'Fool for Love' and 'True West' both address the American dream in powerful and passionate ways. Cygnet Artistic Director Sean Murray has assembled a talented cast of actors to take on these intense, disturbing and often blisteringly funny productions. Cygnet Theatre has announced a Season 12 lineup that reveals common threads of identity, redemption and 'what really makes a family.'
