TNT has given the greenlight to the buddy lawyer series FRANKLIN & BASH, starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar (NYPD Blue, TNT's Raising the Bar) and Breckin Meyer (Heroes). TNT has ordered 10 episodes of the series, which is produced by Four Sycamore Productions, Left Coast Productions and FanFare Productions in association Sony Pictures Television. FRANKLIN & BASH is executive-produced by Jamie Tarses (TNT's HawthoRNe, TBS's My Boys), Kevin Falls (Shark, The West Wing) and Bill Chais (Shark, Dirty Sexy Money). Falls and Chais wrote the pilot.
The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center announced today that seven plays will be developed at the 2010 National Playwrights Conference under the leadership of artistic director Wendy C. Goldberg. The selected playwrights will spend the month of July at the O'Neill's Waterford, Connecticut campus developing and presenting staged readings of their work during the NPC's 46th season. The producers of ROCK OF AGES announced yesterday that after an extremely successful off Broadway run and the sale of the film rights to New Line Cinema, the new, smash hit musical will transfer to Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre, 256 W. 47th Street, and open on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. Previews begin on Friday, March 20, 2009. Variety is reporting that they might be offering in-seating cocktail service to allow the party feel of the show to truly come alive uptown.
