Five Senses Tastings Celebrates Women's History Month with 'A Woman's Voice'

Five Senses Tastings and the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles celebrate Women's History Month with 'A Woman's Voice,' a guided wine tasting, chocolate and music event at V Wine Room located at 903 Westbourne Drive in West Hollywood on Sunday, March 25. There will be two show times, 4:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.

A+E Launches Groundbreaking Short Form Series BIOGRAPHY PRESENTS: HISTORY, HERSTORY, Featuring All-Star Talent

A+E Networks will debut Biography presents: History, Herstory, an engaging on-air short form series in honor of 'Women's History Month' beginning today, March 1. Presented by a range of influential voices, including Julianna Margulies, Kristin Davis, Laverne Cox, Bernice King, the series brings the powerful stories of prominent women throughout history from Maya Angelou to Joan of Arc to air across multiple A+E Networks channels. Biography presents: History, Herstory will begin premiering today, and will air throughout the month of March in prime time slots across HISTORY, Lifetime and A&E.

YOLA Alumni Travel To Mexico City For Multi-Day Workshop

Four alumni of the LA Phil's Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA) program are traveling to Mexico City this week to participate in 'Encounters/Encuentros,' a four-day intensive art and citizenship workshop for young musicians from across the Americas. The workshop is a part of Gustavo Dudamel and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra's 'Americas' tour, a symbolic series of eleven concerts uniting North, Central and South America.  

NJSO Announces 2018-19 Season

"Music speaks" in the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra's 2018-19 season, announced today by the Orchestra and Music Director Xian Zhang. Classical, pops and family offerings feature works that bring to life great stories, poems and speeches, from Kate Whitley's Malala Yousafzai-inspired Speak Out to Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade to sarod master Amjad Ali Khan's Samaagam to Star Wars: A New Hope and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Mary Poppins performed live to picture.

Women's Rights Explored in New Oratorio by Van Nuys High School Students

Hear Our Voice: A Woman's Journey, a timely new oratorio written by Van Nuys High School students for the Los Angeles Master Chorale's Voices Within Oratorio Project, will be premiered by students and members of the Master Chorale on Friday, February 16 andSaturday, February 17 at the school's auditorium. The Friday performance will be for fellow students. The Saturday performance at 1 PM is presented as a free community concert and is open to the public.
