The Boston Theater Critics Association has announced that the 35th annual Elliot Norton Awards will feature the theme ALTERNATIVE ACTS, celebrating the Boston area's theater community, future artists, and the importance of the arts in our country. Two-time Tony Award-winning actress Cherry Jones will be the Guest of Honor at the much-anticipated annual event, which will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 7 PM, at the Huntington Theatre Company's BU Theatre. Theatre Ventures has just announced that Academy Award winner Bill Condon (Disney's Beauty & the Beast, Gods and Monsters, Chicago and Dreamgirls) will direct the first stage adaptation of A STAR IS BORN, based on the 1954 Warner Bros. motion picture. The new musical is in early development and Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures will announce a production timeline in the near future.

Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Late Night Comedy at 54, a recurring late night comedy series hosted by Tyler Fischer (Younger, Chicago Med) and produced by David De Almo (Mike Birbiglia's Thank God for Jokes, Colin Quinn: The New York Story). The series' flagship show, entitled Three Day Weekend, begins its run on Sunday, March 5th 2017 at 11:30pm, and plays every other Sunday through May 30th.
