Lynn Nottage & Quincy Tyler Bernstine Participate In U.S Senate Hearings 5/13

On Wednesday, May 13, Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Lynn Nottage and acclaimed actress Quincy Tyler Bernstine will travel to Washington D.C. to participate in activities surrounding U.S Senate hearings that will address rape and other forms of violence against women that are occurring in countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo.

McCraney Wins 1st NY Times Outstanding Playwright Award For The Brothers Size

The New York Times Company announced today that its first New York Times Outstanding Playwright Award, a prize to honor an American playwright with a recent professional theater debut in New York City, will be awarded to Tarell Alvin McCraney for his play 'The Brothers Size.'

BILLY ELLIOT, RUINED & More Win at Drama Critics' Circle Awards

Ruined, by Lynn Nottage, today won the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award (NYDCC) for Best Play of the 2008-2009 season. The Best Musical award was given to Billy Elliot, music by Elton John, and book and lyrics by Lee Hall. The award for Best Foreign Play was given to Black Watch by Gregory Burke. The selections were made at the 74th annual voting meeting of the organization today at the offices of Time Out New York in Manhattan.

LCT3, Lincoln Center Theater's new initiative devoted to producing work of emerging playwrights, directors and designers, has announced casting for STUNNING, the second production of its inaugural season. Sas Goldberg, Danny Mastrogiorgio, Cristin Milioti, Steven Rattazzi, Jeanine Serralles and Charlayne Woodard will be featured in STUNNING, a new play by David Adjmi, to be directed by Anne Kauffman. STUNNING will begin performances Monday, June 1 at 8pm, open Thursday, June 18 at 6:45pm and run through Saturday, June 27 at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street® project, (229 W. 42 Street).

RUINED Extends Once Again Thru 6/28

Manhattan Theatre Club has announced a six week extension of RUINED, Lynn Nottage's Pulitzer Prize winning play featuring direction by Kate Whoriskey. Tickets for the play are now on sale through Sunday, June 28.
