A haunting American classic, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL marks the first Cleveland Play House production of a work by Pulitzer Prize- and Academy Award-winner Horton Foote, and the world-premiere performance of this play by an African-American cast. Receiving the blessing of Hallie Foote, daughter of the playwright, this co-production with Round House Theatre is helmed by Timothy Douglas and stars preeminent African-American actress Lizan Mitchell as Carrie Watts. THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL begins in the Drury Theatre at Cleveland Play House on Friday, February 4 and runs through Sunday, February 27, 2011. Arena Stage Artistic Director Molly Smith announces the D.C.-based pioneering theater company's 60th season filled with award-winning artists and projects to celebrate the grand opening of Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. The 2010/11 inaugural season includes eight full productions, seven presentations from the National Endowment for the Arts New Play Development Program and public readings from all 30 of Edward Albee's works, totaling at least 45 projects produced and presented by Arena Stage in the inaugural year at the Mead Center. With the opening next fall, Arena Stage will fully become a national center for production, presentation, development and study of American theater.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced three productions as part of the 2011-2012 theatrical season. Bob Fosse's Dancin', a masterful tribute to legendary choreographer Bob Fosse, directed by Graciela Daniele, will play Studio 54 in the Fall of 2011. Sons of the Prophet by Stephen Karam, directed by Peter DuBois, will also premiere this Fall, while Look Back in Anger by John Osborne, directed by Sam Gold, will hit the stage in the Winter of 2012.
A one-night-only encore benefit performance of Being Harold Pinter on February 21 at 7:30pm has just been added to Belarus Free Theatre's (BFT) sold-out engagement-concluding an historic theatrical event for the City of Chicago. Goodman Theatre, the League of Chicago Theatres and Chicago Shakespeare Theater together present this special event in which members from Chicago's theater community join the Belarusian company on stage during the moving climactic moments of Being Harold Pinter. Seattle's Intiman Theatre is currently going though hard times, as it is now calling for the support of the public in order to solve its financial issues. The theatre, which is currently $1 million in debt, is attemping to raise $500,000 by April, and a second $500,000 by September. As of November the theatre's debt stood at $2.3 million. Since then, over $800,000 has been raised.
