Theatre NOVA, Ann Arbor's professional theatre with an exclusive focus on new plays and playwrights, is thrilled to announce an extension of its smash hit "The Devil's Music: The Life and Blues of Bessie Smith" by Angelo Parra. Putnam Street in downtown Williamston, starts 2017 with the World Premiere of A Painted Window by Christy Hall.  Performances begin Today, January 26 and run through Sunday, February 26.  Tickets go on sale Tuesday, January 10 at Noon.

The Williamston Theater, mid-Michigan's award winning professional theatre company located at 122 S. Putnam in downtown Williamston, celebrates its 11th Season with a mix of comedies, dramas, murders, World Premiers and Michigan Premiers.

The Purple Rose Theatre Company continues its strong tradition of producing world premieres and theatrical favorites for its 2016-2017 season. Artistic Director Guy Sanville poses the question, "Do you ever wish you had a second chance to meet someone again for the first time? Our 26th season is an enchanting mix that will feature two world premiere comedies by Michigan playwrights, a revival and a Pulitzer prize-winning American classic, all of which explore this question with humor, magic, mayhem and heart."

The Michigan Premiere production of BUTLER by native Michiganian Richard Strand will be Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 8:30pm at the Detroit Repertory Theatre. As is tradition on Opening Nights at the Detroit Repertory Theatre, a Champagne Afterglow will be held in the Lobby Gallery following the performance with the cast and crew of the production.

Though it is the shortest month of the year, it is a busy one at Performance Network. For starters, the second slot in the 2014­2015 season, the powerful yet heartwarming 'Yellowman,' will close February 15 after rave reviews from critics and patrons alike. On February 17, the free class demonstration that was originally scheduled for February 2, will take place at 7:30pm. The Wednesday Night Concert Series, now known as the Open Table Series, will have two readings on February 11 and 25, and then on February 18, the Arts Alliance will present a Creative Connections event at the Network from 5pm to 7pm featuring the Ann Arbor Film Festival.
