As BroadwayWorld previously reported, plans have been underway for the BBC to film the London production of Gypsy this month, and now the news is official. According to the theatre's official Facebook page, equipment is in place to record the show for a later broadcast .

Jonathan Kent's five-star production of Gypsy starring Imelda Staunton as Rose will have its final performance on 28 November 2015 as previously announced. Having smashed the all time box office record at the Savoy Theatre and subsequently recouped, Kent's production originally opened at the Chichester Festival Theatre in October last year. Following a second set of five-star reviews, producers Michael Harrison and David Ian announced an extension to the West End run in April.

According to an email sent to a ticket buyer and alerted to BroadwayWorld.com, plans are underway for the BBC to film the London production during the first week of October for potential broadcast and release. At this time no official announcement of either has been made, and the Savoy Theatre's Twitter account has long denied filming being planned, but stay tuned to BroadwayWorld.com for the latest.

Producers Michael Harrison and David Ian today announce that Jonathan Kent's 5 star production of Gypsy starring Imelda Staunton has smashed the all time box office record at the Savoy Theatre taking £408,300 for performances ending 25 April 2015. Harrison and Ian said: 'We are thrilled that this amazing record has been achieved in the 1089 seat Savoy Theatre and are delighted that we have been able to extend our run through November this year.'

Further to previous notices, producers today confirmed that From Here to Eternity will close on 29 March 2014 following a six month run at the Shaftesbury Theatre. ?From Here to Eternity is adapted from one of the greatest novels of the twentieth century, this gripping tale of illicit love and army life unites the writing talents of Tim Rice (lyrics), Stuart Brayson (music) and Bill Oakes (book). On Saturday at the Shaftesbury Theatre the Military Wives Choir shared the stage with the full company of From Here to Eternity to mark today's anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, an event integral to the plot of the musical. Introduced by Tim Rice, the choir of 36 joined the company for a moving curtain call rendition of Boys of '41 - the song in the show dedicated to the soldiers who lost their lives in the attack.
