Raue Center for the Arts in association with Williams Street Repertory has announced that it will be mounting the Chicago Premiere of " SUDS: The Rockin' 60's Musical " This is to be the first of three Chicago premieres Raue Center's in-house company will be putting up in its 2014/2015 Season. SUDS will run through July, opening on July 11. Complete run dates are as follows: July 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26 at 8p and July 13, 19 and 27 at 3p.

They are the surviving half of three sets of long time best friends, each of whom is in a different stage of healing and moving on with her life. Once a month the three women meet to pay their respects to their husbands, who are all buried in the same cemetery. The women are bound together by their hurt, their healing and the discovery that they are more alike than they believed.

The organization is thrilled to announce that Lance Lipinsky of Chicago's "Million Dollar Quartet" will play the big event for a second time! His appearance last year at Raue Center was a SOLD OUT show in which he appeared as part of a performance entitled Jerry Lee & Friends: An Evening of The King, the Killer & Cash! This year, Lance returns, but he has brought with him his own band of rockabilly rockers, the Lovers. The conference runs from June 27, 2014 to June 29, 2014. Lance Lipinsky and his band The Lovers will perform on June 29, 2014 at 7:00 pm.

TheatreWorks was the fourth largest recipient of funds out of 674 participating nonprofit organizations during yesterday's 'Silicon Valley Gives' event. In celebration of the 100th anniversary of community foundations, Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) hosted the first-ever day of giving to benefit local nonprofits in the region. The effort provided over 14,000 unique donors the opportunity to connect with hundreds of local causes, encouraging them to take action in helping the community. Aimed to inspire and unite locals to support philanthropic causes, the 24-hour event collected an astounding $7.9 million in donations through a single online platform. TheatreWorks, the nationally acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, received $100,801 from a total of 125 donors, making it among the top recipients in funds raised. In addition, the theatre received two $5,000 matching grants, from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, raising its total to $110,801.
