Director/Actor Andréas Voutsinas, best known to audiences for his role as Carmen Ghia in the 1968 Mel Brooks comedy 'The Producers,' has passed away at 79. Voutsinas died in Athens on Tuesday.

Palm Springs Film Festival Honors Morgan Freeman with Career Acheivement Award, 1/5

The 21st Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) will present Morgan Freeman with the Career Achievement Award for Acting. Presented by Cartier, the Awards Gala will kick off the 2010 awards season on Tuesday, January 5 at the Palm Springs Convention Center and will be hosted by 'Entertainment Tonight's' Mary Hart. The Festival runs January 5-18.

East Lynne Theater Company's Actors & Creatives Teach Classes, Host Films

Performers currently working with East Lynne Theater Company are busy these days outside of the usual four-performance week schedule of 'Alice on the Edge.' Mark Edward Lang and Alison J. Murphy, who have performed extensively with ELTC, as well as with theaters in New York and across the country, return to the Avalon Free Public Library with their popular 'Shakespeare and Improv' workshop.

Stanton and Jenkins to Star in Primary Stages' NY Premiere of 'Love Child'

Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Executive Producer; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Elliot Fox, Managing Director), in association with Martin Hummel, present the New York premiere of the new comedy, Love Child, written and performed by Daniel Jenkins (Mary Poppins, Big River) and Robert Stanton (The Coast of Utopia, All in the Timing), as an added event of the 2008-2009 season. Under the direction of Carl Forsman, performances are set to begin Sunday evening, October 12, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. and will run in repertory with A Body of Water by Lee Blessing for a limited engagement through November 19, 2008. Opening night is October 26, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
